Flavoring color change?

My last DIY mix of mint/menthol that I use as my daily vape didn't taste right at all... the flavor was weak and a odd tasting. I didn't even notice that overnight all my flavorings had changed from clear to a gold color... these are just the flavorings from TPA (spearmint, peppermint) not the actual mix. I tasted them individually by putting a drop on my tongue and yes, they are dull and plasticy tasting.

Any idea what could have caused this? They are only about a month old each and were stored in those little 4ml glass bottles with rubber droppers. (could it be the rubber?) I didn't store them in the dark, but my room isn't very bright and no sunlight gets in here. My larger bottle of spearmint has also changed color and it's stored in the dark. I don't understand how this happenend overnight, nothing has changed in the environment.

Any clues? has anyone seen just the flavorings change color?

Who is TPA? I'm not familiar with the acronym.

Has the flavor gotten hot, perhaps in front of a heater vent or on top of a radiator?

How well sealed were the containers? Oxygen can also cause breakdown of the flavors.

Any chance of cross contamination, such as using a dropper in multiple bottles?

TPA is The Perfumer's Apprentice.

I was thinking along the same lines as you, Seth. I've had my TPA flavors for a few weeks and no change in colors.

Yes they all will change color. Some very dark and some not so much.
