No...actually that may prove detrimental to the flavorings. You want to keep as many of those flavoring molecules in that bottle as possible. The steeping process doesn't start till it is mixed with something else..ie base components of pg/vg/nic. I liken it to homemade chili or spaghetti sauce....it always tastes better the day after it's made. It has had more time for those ingredients to meld and mix together. Pretty much the same concept with many DIY flavorings. They need to mix and meld (or age) together...however one wants to look at it....and some flavorings just take longer for that "relationship" to solidify ;) HTH

I'm just getting into trying my hand at diy ejuice and was wondering would steeping or venting my flavorings before adding them to my vg/pg/nic base help with the steep time after they have been mixed
Yes as @keelalagirl55 says there isn't really any escape from the steeping process although some advocate heat and magnetic stirrers and such like....In my view a no no..there's nothing better than time.

What I did was mix up 6 to 7 30ml mixes for steeping and vaped a few trials of these mixes as it went along. Then if you do one more mix on a weekly basis by the time you get to the 4 week benchmark there is always something else coming to maturity. Good luck and happy mixing :)

Now, you can make base flavorings in vg/pg and let them steep, then add other flavorings to it.... People do this with cheesecake and milkshake flavors. Cheesecake needs a month to steep frequently (for some mixers) but fruit flavorings sometimes fade, as an example. So you could mix your strawberry cheesecake recipe leaving out the fruit until a later date.
Or mix a batch of Milkshake Base with nic and all, then at a later date add a fruit flavoring mixed with the same ratios of vg/pg and nic. That would lower the % of flavoring in the base but vg/pg and nic would be the same.

@FranC 's Vanilla Milkshake Base -
1.5% Biscuit INW
1.5 Milk and Honey FLV
4 Vanilla Bean Ice Cream TPA
1.5 Shisha Vanilla INW

There used to be a belief that use of a sonic cleaner could hasten step time, but it seems to have been more or less abandoned.

I have not tried it, but from the name I'm guessing there is vanilla there.....and yea, not a short road with vanillas usually, but oh so worth the wait imo (love the vanillas and custards ;) )

Edit....scratch above....thought vandalia was part of the juice name....lol. Just saw your other post.....sounds like a delightful flavor I may have to give it a whirl ♥

Well, if it's any consolation....those of us that have been mixing for a while still have those not so good mixes ;) It's a lot like cooking.....trial and error till you get it just right ;) Even established recipes (both food and ejuice) I have a tendency to "tweek" them a bit....some for the better some end up a disaster

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you've been cooking longer...right? :D
I'd have to say that I still do better with cooking too, but I am MUCH more familiar with those ingredients...aka flavorings ;)

Those little pictures below where you "reply" to a post....those are the "rating buttons" Like, Agree, Disagree, Funny, Winner, Informative, Love, Useful, Optimistic, and Creative. Just click on one of those to "rate" (ECF wording...not mine) the post ;)

There should be some little "buttons" below each post that look like thumbs up, a green checkmark, etc.
If you want to get someone's attention in a post, put an @ symbol in front of their name, @Rodnemaniac .

This is my issue as well. My solution, such as it is, is to give up on complicated recipes and those requiring steeping. I flavor with shake n’ vape one-shot flavors. Not the most amazing stuff but it’s not bad, and I get no measurement instant juice.
