This is a good topic! In my experience all the flavors changed over time.

I am testing a new RY4 Triple Tab recipe and 12 hours after mixing I could notice the difference, even thats not huge, theres a difference.

I really think that all the juices will need some time and will change in flavor and smell over time, am I correct?

In my experience (which is admitedly limited) there are a LOT of mixes that are tasty when first mixed, BUT I've never found one that doesn't benefit from at least an overnight steep. Look at it this way..you're putting a small amount of flavoring in a much larger volume of carrier...just stands to reason it'd take some time for that carrier to absorb the flavor. Until that happens, basically what you've got is flavor diluted.

I think fruits out of all the flavors need less steep time.

I'd have to go with stronger fruits with a bit of citric acid content in their real life form, like strawberry, blackberry, well berries is what I am seeming to say, but also lemon or lime. Also, mints. Wintergreen is a good one. (Menthol is an entirely different topic, and crystals need extra steps, btw.) Some of the desert flavors don't need a lot of steeping, but I don't use those often so go with whatever someone that does use them says on deserts.

When adding champagne to a berry flavor, no steeping needed. Don't know about other alcohol flavors, don't use them.

Tobaccos are all different, depends on which company made the flavor and how strong the flavor, that gets specific - and they change tremendously from first day to weeks later. They don't stay the same flavor at all imo. They greatly vary.

Came back to add coffees. If you like coffee vape and find a good flavor (I haven't found a particularly fantastic one yet) they don't need steeping. I also realized I don't like vaping coffee though.

Haven't gone into chocolates, someone else can chime in on those.

If you branch out to herbs, florals, they are very delicate to taste but don't require steeping. It sometimes takes away some flavor to steep them, depending again on the company that makes the flavor. Also, some companies are just to perfumey. I found any and all Flavour Art flavors are perfumey to me, including the florals, and need a very, very long steep before I like them. (Like one I just opened from last year, finally great, couldn't stand it before. Fig/orange combo. It is wonderful now, but before it was like vaping a bottle of perfume.)

Thank you for the replies,

In case you haven't guessed, I have lost all my patients. Was a teacher and it is all gone. Used up. I was a patient teacher. When the patients was gone, I quit teaching. LOL

Not a school teacher. A teacher of skills. That type of teaching takes a lot of patients. Especially when you are trying to teach someone that doesn't really have an aptitude for what they want to learn. Lost patients with those students and then strictly taught other professionals. Then got to the point where I just didn't like teaching.

Anyway, maybe I can have patience with juices.

Real fruits dont change much however something like a strawberry shortcake does need steeping . Iv also noticed coffee needs lot of steeping . They always have a chemical/burnt taste that goes away after steeping .Tobaccos also need a lot of steeping . Pretty much the only thing that doesnt is most fruits since your looking for them to say tart and steeping changes it from tart to thick and sweet .

You must have been a bad doctor. ;) Sorry, couldn't resist.

It seemed to me that every Capella's flavor that I got in the latest sale tasted just fine right away. I was a little surprised, because I have some similar flavors from other vendors that do need steeping IMO, and I expected the same from the Capella's.

Capellas do taste better than every other brand before steeping however they get 10x as good after steeping .

So, all the flavors that I'm interested in need steeping. LOL Don't know, I haven't tried any fruits yet. I don't eat a lot of fruit so it never really crossed my mind to get fruit. Guess I'll have to try one.

I like bananas. Will that do or are you all particularly talking about citrus fruits?

Yea its always best to steep .It really does make a world of difference .You can try them before steeping while you let them steep . I always make my juice a couple days in advance . For making new mixes and testing you can do it right away . If i can just about taste the juice and it tastes like it will be good ,i let it steep in it comes out excellent . If i try to test a juice right away and keep adding flavoring to make it as tasty as possible after steeping it becomes over flavored and tastes like crap .

If you dont like fruits you still could use them to make like strawberry shortcakes and cheesecakes and stuff .

It would be easy to lose patience with students. They don't taste as good vaporized.

On the perumey taste, this is what I was told by an flavor insider. Some of the flavor molecules, for a lack of a better term, are manufactured for both the perfume and the flavor industry. When made for the perfume industry the process is different than for the flavoring industry, but to reduce costs some companies may use some of them, they're just as safe apparently, but cheaper. I don't know this for a fact and am just relaying what I was told. Plus my way of explaining it is by memory and that isn't so good any more. LOL Capella use to have a statement on their site that mentioned them not using perfume ingredients but I don't see it now.
