From the posts here, I must not have any taste buds! :p

For my primary vape, I mix 10% Max B, 10% 7 Leaves, 3% RY4 and 3% Menthol. All of them are FlavorArt. Maybe I should try a lower strength and see if it still works for me.

That seems to be high percentage of tobacco flavoring to me. Of course, if you are happy with your mixes, then it is not too much. I would love to hear others' opinion on this though. You could certainly try reducing the amounts. Start low and work up. It takes some time but might make it even better for you.

Actually, for my first couple of tobacco mixes I used similar amounts of combined tobacco flavors minus the menthol. Wasn't happy with them at all. Although strong, there was no clearly defined tobacco flavor of any kind and vaping them made me cough like a madman. To me, it just tasted like crap that was marinated in barf and left to fester for a week in a hot, dirty earthen jar. Epic FAIL!

Fortunately I only make 5 mL batches when experimenting so I diluted the mess with an additional 5 mL of unflavored 75/25 pg/vg and tried it. ...cue chorus of angels singing "Hallelujah"... The degree of badness went way down! Almost vapeable now. Still a mishmash of flavors but much improved. Conclusion was that I used too many flavors in too high a concentration.

I discovered, and am still learning, through trial and error that less is more with a lot of those flavors. I now start with 3-5% of one tobacco flavor and stick with that. I do sometimes end up with nearly 10% tobacco flavorings but not often. FA tends to be strong. Additional flavorings, same % to start with. I usually don't combine Tobacco flavors much any more either. If I do, I will adjust the amounts to not exceed 5% total for the tobacco blends to start with. I keep a clean atty and drip tip handy to sample a few drops to see if I'm in the ball park. I will add a drop or two of whatever it needs until I'm satisfied. Then its sits for a day or two before having at it.

Also learned that some flavors will cancel each other out or make a mix taste absolutely nothing like I thought it would.

Experimentation is the key. Its big fun when you hit upon flavors that you can honestly vape every day and enjoy every minute of it.

Best of luck!

I'm finding that if I mix even a smidgen over 2% with FA tobaccos that I have a bottle of YUCK! Those flavors are very strong!!! I'm loving the Cuban Supreme and Virginia. I mix them both at 2% and add a couple of drops of EM to smooth them out and they are perfect. Sometimes I add a drop of vanilla bourbon for a slightly different "zing." Anyway, just wanted to toss in my 2 cents with my experience thus far. I'm finding it's much easier to add strength than trying to dilute it once it's too strong. Good luck!

I tend to like tobacco blended with things rather than straight dessert and fruits on their own. Adding a tobacco flavor just seems to give a juice more body and complexity.

Same here, I use tobacco as my base (2 varieties) and so far I have found I like it with coffee, cappuccino, brandy, cherry, irish creme, and sometimes I touch up the cherry with a touch of mint, but it does not work by itself with tobacco or any of the others. Got a feeling I will have the mint for a long time unless I find a better match for it...

guess I need to order some EM instead of just expecting to use sucralose"sweetner" from FA...

I use cotton candy as EM, as it's already mixed and ready to drop in the juice. I think it works better with the tobaccos, while sucralose sweetener is better for straight fruit flavors. Sometimes I use both sucralose and EM with fruits if it has a sharp bite that needs to be smoothed out.

Hi,
I have been searching and searching and have only found a couple threads about Flavour Art tobacco flavors. I would like to try some and am looking for others experience with them. Thanks for any help! bnrk

FA Perique and latikia have the most real tobacco flavor. I also highly suggest TPA tobacco extract. Tobacco extract is thick and needs to be thinned out. I mix it 50/50 with PG and it is still thick but mixable. I use about 5 drops in a 10 ml bottle and get a strong tobacco flavor. I also have added a few drops of FA flavors to it at times.

I have three caramels here. Does it matter which I use? Thanks much.
TFA Caramel Original
TFA Caramel Candy
Capella Carmamel

Probably not, although the Lorann's I use is pretty darned strong. I use 3% FA RY4, 4% Lorann caramel and 2% Lorann Bavarian cream - I've done it with and without 2% cotton candy but that should give you a starting point.
