Battery life has been a bit disapointing for me. Firing a .2 dual coil build at 60-70w, you can see the battery life diminish with every pull. Supposely the lipo will only last for 4 minutes @200w. But was expecting much better battery life out of a 1200mah 3s lipo.
Did you set the correct Wh in escribe?

To me the battery life is pretty good, on Sunday I used my Tugboat on it with a .15ohm build at 75W all day, and into the evening. I dunno, to me that's descent.

I just tried to download the evolv program to access the chip, and wasn't able to here at work. I'll try again at home later.

What is this Wh setting that you speak of?
It's on the mod tab of the escribe software, I can post a screenshot later if you want. It's basically what the DNA200 bases the battery meter of off, at least that is my understanding.

By default I think it was set at the Wh for a 900mah battery, I just used the calculator in escribe, plugged in 1200mah, and then set it to the appropriate Wh, 13.32 IIRC.

So upon arrival we need to change / set:
  • Battery size / life - perhaps run battery test?
  • Set mod resistance? Does anybody know what that is for this box?
Is that it? Other than whatever we want for our atty profiles ..

Yep, that's pretty much it. I posted what I'm using for the mod resistance earlier in this thread, it seems pretty close, comparing it to the VS200 which came configured by VS. Close enough at least, I haven't gone back and tweaked it.

Mine came today and the battery was already set at 13.3Wh - I measured mod resistance and got 0.007, per other threads where I see 'safety margin' comments I set it to 0.006. It ~seems~ to be doing TC better than anything I've had before for Ti coils so far. Early hours of the mix.

It's not a comfortable in the hand as the Boxer, or light, but it's a bloody small box overall and really nicely built and finished. -Mags

Yeah - the Evolv DNA 200 is impressing me so far and I look forward to getting my Boxer because the brief time I had it in my hand it was a tiny beast with the dual 18650s. And I'm not pressing above 133W anytime soon.

I tried a Kennedy 24 and a SMOK TFV4 - kanthal and Ti build on the Kennedy. Sextuple and Ti prebuilt on the SMOK. I'm just switching them on and off as I play with profile slots. Works REALLY well with all of it so far and both the Kennedy and SMOK are in the 24-25mm range and fit beautifully on the box.

For whatever reason the auto-update on the Escribe isn't working for me so I pulled the latest 2015-09-30 build from the Evolv forums and did that manually. Cleared up the one issue which was the screen slots not changing for me and that's a-OK now.

Haven't cracked it open to see if they've changed the way they connected the battery which was my only real concern but otherwise impressed so far. Again, that Boxer I briefly had (on the way back) impressed me more in the hand and has dual 18650s but this is a very close second. Very.

Good times. -Mags

Got this mod on Wednesday and I'm liking it so far, can someone post a pic of their case thermals please? When I run the device monitor it says my room temp is 85°f when I know for a fact that it's around 69-71°f.

I had the same experience today - no idea as to why other than placement of the sensor being particularly important and not a core design consideration.

It's about a constant 6 degrees Farenheit high in my case when the ambient temperature is lower but I noticed in the hot sun it's a few degrees actually cooler. So it must be grabbing some temp inside the case I guess.

It does not seem to change the performance of the mod but I support if you're in Death Valley or something on a hot day it just might?
