I wished we had an e-cig vendor here that i could buy locally from We have a flea market but I doubt i will see anyone carrying e-cigs anytime soon. I live in the western part of the state and so far the only vendor I have seen is in our mall and he sells them in the middle of the mall in one of the booths that are set up. He has them so over marked it's ridiculous. I wish we could get someone to start a large storefront here or someone gets a brainstorm and starts selling them at the flea market. Until then I guess I will just keep buying online which isn't too bad because there are a coupe of nice vendors in Charlette

Not sure where you're located exactly, but Mountain Vapor is in Hendersonville. First chance I get to go over that way I'm hoping to stop by.

Like Helen Ready said to Pete in Pete's Dragon, " Education education education..." ( gawd I'm old)

I find it funny that this sales person seems un-knowledgeable about some of the things you spoke with her about. I really hate to see sales people in the e-cig business that don't have all their facts. I hoped you were able to educate her and she took your advice to heart.

Actually, I didn't have too big of a problem with it. She knew what she was talking about, but didn't necessarily know about all that's out there. But think about it... Remember when you first started (only a couple of months ago for me)? Remember being TOTALLY OVERWHELMED by all that's out there? I think I might have appreciated simply having someone sell me an eGo at a fair price and getting me started with something that wasn't junk and wasn't a mall rip-off...

The only thing she was really ignorant of is the cost effectiveness and other benefits of DIY, and there are a lot of people even in these forums who don't do it perhaps because it's a bit intimidating...

Oh, and the avatar is from "Clerks". It's the only brand of cigarettes "advertised" in the movie. There are never any brands mentioned, people ask for "a pack of cigarettes" at the counter, but there is no real advertisement. This is the brand that was made up, and this is one of the posters for it that shows up in the background. The movie is totally in black and white, though, so it doesn't do it justice. The brand shows up in several other Kevin Smith movies in passing, as well...

I'm about 2 1/2 hours from MadVapes, but I don't find myself in Charlotte very often. I really want to go, if for no other reason than to see their facility... I order everything but diy flavorings (and the occasional from MadVapes or MyFreedomSmokes (also in the Charlotte area).

My only local vaping friend was out at that flea market a couple of weekends ago. All her eGo gear had gone wonky on her and she had my Super Mini GLV on loan. She showed it to the woman at the booth and she said she'd never seen anything like it. I guess she's on done a bit of research on the kit type models, but my friend said the same thing you said, she's not giving out bad information and has decent prices on gear. My friend picked up a single eGo-T batt, charger and LR T-atty for $40. Not great, but not horrible either. I'm going to have to make a tri p out there and check it out. :)

Thanks for the info and insight... I hope I didn't come off as negative in any way, as that was not my intention.

There may be a place for a full service, mod selling, juice flinging, all out vape store, but the triangle isn't it, and I think they do an excellent job of educating and supplying all the right things to get someone started. We have to realize that most of the vaping community isn't here, and is happy with an eGo or 510 (or whatever they first came across), and isn't into the mods, diy, or any of those things many of us tend to overspend on and spend way too much time thinking about!

If all the vapors around the world are here, we're a small group indeed!

Thanks again, Dred, for the info!

I didn't see the post as negative, Wil. If I walked into a flea market, or even a mall for that matter, the first impression is that these guys are possibly capitalizing on the hype, have a select (poor) choice of models, and is incredibly overpriced. That's what we all think of the mall kiosks, right? I'd probably have the same first impression at a flea market. However, you described further in the OP that they had good brands, and some knowledge. So, the impression became more favorable. I didn't see anything as negative. On the contrary, it gave me some ideas on market areas. Whether I act or not, thinking about doing PV business is interesting to me. By no means am I knowledgeable, but heck, I can be a quick learner... I'm in the technology industry, and that's always requiring study to stay on top of.

I also like supporting the local community, and if there's a dealer nearby, and they're reasonable, I'd like to give them the opportunity of doing business with me. And if there's a need, but with no suppliers, perhaps there's a market to approach? I may need to peruse the local flea markets. Thanks for the post!

I know this is an old thread but I want to add something. I directed a coworker to MMV at the flea market so he could try before he buys. A couple weeks after purchasing an eGo his battery or charger went dead. He realized this early in the morning just before driving to Fayetteville on business (we're in Raleigh). It was 7am but he decided to give the MMV phone a ring just to leave a message as he was leaving for Fayetteville. Brenda (I assume) answered the call at 7am! He explained to her what was going on and that he didn't know if it was the battery or the charger but he was freaking out a bit because he didn't want to smoke an analog. Now, get this. She met him on the road while he was on his way to Fayetteville and gave him batteries and a charger! Hats off to one of the best customer service experiences I've ever heard of!

I think I'd rather my car break down on the highway than my pv giving out on me. I got my first e-cig, a joye 510 kit, from one of the local cig shops that MMV supplies. It was only good enough for about a week before I was moving on. I wish they carried some more "advanced" items so I could keep using them but no can do unless they update the inventory with some new hotness.
