Flooding everyday...(cold weather problems?)

Hey all, I started vaping a few weeks ago and it has been nothing but a headache.

I currently have a Hammer Mod clone that I run 18350's in, with a Protank 2/3. I have held off posting anything because I've tried to do as much research as possible.

The problem I am having (like clockwork) when I take my e cig to work within an hour or two I start to get flooding. The draws become very hard and if i disconnect the tank from the battery I can see fluid coming out of the atomizer. I have switched atomizers, almost daily to try to rule out faulty ones. When I'm at home, I vape just fine, I feel and hear plenty of air flow.

I work indoor/outdoor a lot. I try to keep my e cig in my pocket, bit it always "gums" up at work. I stayed home almost all weekend, and had zero issues. The juice I buy is a 50/50 mix.

Anyone have any experience with this? Through out the week currently I have to fully strip down my tank and clean it. Not to mention I am currently wasting a LOT of juice. All of the flooding is occurring at the atomizer where it attaches into the bottom base of the tank.

I'd really appreciate any help.

So you have have a protank 2 and protank 3 and having this problem?

Try a Vision Vivi Nova (or Mini Vivi Nova) BUT, HAS TO BE THE VISION BRAND!!!! I cannot get one to leak onto the battery for anything. They are not as smooth as the Protank, but a lot less hassle IMHO.

Protanks are really good, but I always have leaking issues due to them being a BCC.

Yeah, I've felt your pain. Protanks really don't seem to like cold temps. I have seen this with Puritanks as well. So, I suspect that the issue is with the atomizer head and not the tanks themselves.
A cartotank might be better suited for cold weather use. Haven't had an opportunity to test the theory as yet.

BCC= Bottom Coil Changeable.

Do you see the underline under the BCC? You can hover your pointer over it & the explanation pops up automatically.
Pretty handy huh?

This is a Cartomizer Tank, The cartotank and the BCC suggested by Razorback are just styles of atomizers that are/may be better in cold weather.

I work outside everyday in south dakota, which has very cold winters. I have had the same problems on a daily with protank 2, pyrex aro, and aspire bdc. Works fine at home, floods at work. Best thing that has worked for me is keep the tank disconnected from mod in your pants pocket. Hope it works for you. Mine still floods but not nearly as much. Might also be from moving around a lot which I do at work. Well, best wishes hopes it works out for you.

I haven't had the best of luck with Bottom coils. But don't get discouraged! There are a few ways to fix it but it requires taking it completely apart and i'm not quite sure if you are comfortable doing that.

Try looking at what others have posted. If you are looking for ease of use and flavor..go with a carto tank. Check out ibtanked or the jtank(electronicstix.com) and see if something like that might interest you. Then all you need to do is buy some punched carto's (or regular stainless steel cartos and a carto-punch) and there ya are!

I have the same issue with my bottom coil tanks. I think it's the expansion and contraction of the air inside as it changes temps. Sometimes keeping the tank drip tip down when not actively vaping helps.

I have the same issue with my kanger tank, seems pretty common even without severe weather conditions. My iSmoka BCC Mega never leaks, it has a grommet separating the tank portion from the threading. I always have a dry and clean battery terminal I'm not saying it's better than any of the tanks others have suggested, as I've never used them, but it's definitely worth a look if you're looking for a new tank system

I have an identical set up; Hammer Clone, Protank 2 and the same issues. I have learned that when not vaping, keep the entire unit horizontal. I also have s Smok Leader 6ml that I adore. As long as I keep it horizontal when not vaping, it's golden.
