Flux Nectar, batch of 3 -- day 1 impressions

So today I received my first order from GotVapes.com. I decided to give their Flux Nectar e-liquids a whirl. The prices are great for 36ml bottles, and they have a really nice list of flavors.

I ordered:

  • Pyramid Fusion -- 24mg
  • Strawberry Peach -- 17mg
  • Caramel Apple -- 11mg (though I received 24mg):glare:
First things first, I notice their liquid is very runny, very thin. It says it is 70/30 PG/VG, which is the same blend that I've been using from ElixirLiquid.com, but the Flux Nectar is much thinner. My eGo-T doesn't seem to like holding this stuff in as well as the ElixirLiquid. If I set my PV upright, I discover little drops of liquid coming out of the atty onto the battery. Not a huge deal, but could be a real pain if I'm out and about and discover my tank has ...... out into my pocket... This runniness also makes filling my tanks more complicated... I've already spilled a few drops of juice on my desk because it's just so damn thin that as soon as I pull out the eye-dropper, it's going everywhere.

Second, the smell/taste is STRONG. Not necessarily a bad thing... some of my previous liquids had great flavors, but after a couple hours of vaping you could forget what they were. My wife commented on the smell almost immediately -- this had me a bit taken back, as up until this point none of the liquids I've used had a noticeable "second-hand" smell, so I vape in my home office and around the house after the baby is asleep. Not sure if my whole house is going to smell like Flux Nectar now.

Overall: Nice vapor production, decent throat-hit.

Pyramid Fusion -- Not what I was expecting. I was a Camel smoker for most of my 13 years of smoking, and I previously tried ElixirLiquid's Kamel which was quite nice, and I was expecting a similar blend here. This is something else entirely. A nutty, burnt cocoa with no discernible trace of tobacco. Nice, but maybe a little overpowering on the cocoa. I'll see how I'm liking it after a full day of vaping, rather than just a quick tank to try it out.

Strawberry Peach -- Name says it all. Sweet ripe strawberries with a hint of fresh-cut peaches. Sweet and flavorful without being cloying. I normally reserve the "tobacco" flavors for my all-day vaping, and break out the sweet stuff late at night... but this could become a must-have regular in the rotation.

Caramel Apple -- Hard to describe this one. I believe their website says it's red apple as opposed to green, and that makes sense... but it's not the old candied apple flavor I was eagerly anticipating. It's not really sweet... The caramel and apple notes are noticeable, but they seem to clash rather than mesh. It's not unvapeable, but first impressions are disappointing. The top note is smoky, almost bad, I dare say like smoking some sort of unidentifiable material that should never be smoked.... then underneath that, the weaker caramel and red apple flavors fight it out.

Anybody else try these flavors? Other impressions on these particular flavors, or Flux Nectar in general? Am I going to be sitting on several dozen mL of juice I'm not that impressed with?

I've seen the concept of "letting juices steep" in the forums alot since I've returned to vaping.... my first several bottles of liquid were purchased from a local smoke shop where they've likely been sitting in the display case for weeks before I got ahold of them, so they were probably "pre-steeped".... can anyone advise if steeping will benefit these flavors, and make them more palatable, since I just received these a few hours ago?

Thanks for reading my rant.....:vapor:

Considering these juices have strong flavor, you might benefit from adding a little bit of your own vg - which can be bought from walmart. The strong flavors might be able to stand up to the added vg, while thickening the juice to perform better in your ego t.

Of course, you may lose some TH. Then again, you may see better vapor production.

I'm happy to report after just a few days the flavors are all opening up quite nicely.

The Strawberry Peach is still awesome.

Pyramid Fusion's overpowering notes have subdued a bit and is much more enjoyable, it's nearly achieved all-day vape status.

Caramel Apple seems to have benefited the most from a few days of steeping, and the red apple flavor is really shining through with a nice crisp edge that is softened by a touch of caramel. The odd taste it had on day one is all but gone.

I'm eager to see how these stand up after a few more days/weeks of steeping. But I gotta say, after initial mild disappointment, I'm now finding myself to be surprisingly pleased with my newest acquisitions.
