Im off for a wedding coming up in a few weeks. I want to know what/how i should pack my vape gear. I will be flying from NY to FL. I plan to bring my lava box and my rusty trusty sigelei 150 as a back up as far as mods, as well as 4 18650`s and my nitecore d4 charger. i wont be bringing any coil building gear, just maybe some cotton. As for juice I diy so this is where i was really looking for advice, at about 30ml of juice per day on a 9 day trip, 270ml (just over 9oz). I can mail some of the juice prior to flying if i have to I just wont have access to it for a few days while im down there. id rather bring it with me if possible. Im worried the bottles wont be "properly sealed/labeled" and raise some red flags. thanks in advance!

According to most recent TSA regulations -

As far as your gear...pack anything that has a battery/batteries in it...in your carry-on, your spare batteries in proper cases, too. That's the only place those things are permitted to be transported on aircraft now.

As far as eliquids - you're allowed to pack as many bottles of anything liquid, gel, etc. as will fit in 1 single quart-sized Ziplock type baggie in your carry-on...as long as EACH bottle/container is no more than 3.4 ounces. Any liquids larger in amount...must be packed in your checked baggage. In baggage, I'd definitely use bottles with leakproof caps (not typical dropper bottles), or if you use dropper bottles put them in several layers of Ziplock baggies in case of leakage.

I would say a proper case is one of the plastic ones specifically made for holding your 18650 batteries. Same place you bought the batteries sells them, or they should anyway. If you can fit a 4oz bottle (with only 3 ozs. in it) in the 1 quart-sized Ziplock baggie...and still have room in it for any/all other liquids or gels you want in your carry-on (ie. after shave, cologne, toothpaste, etc.) in the baggie...you could try it. The 40z. bottle should be see-through though IMO, so they can see it's not full. I also think you're asking for possible delays going through screening though...if your bottle is a 4oz. one. They will not have any way of checking the actual ozs. in it...and would most likely just pitch it if there's any doubt! Usually smaller bottles invite less skepticism on their part. I just took multiple smaller bottles (30 or 50mL ones) in my baggie in my carry-on.

I just returned home from a cross country flight yesterday, one of many I take every year and TSA has never questioned me or even taken a second look at my vape goods.

I carry everything in a small Pelican case, including multiple 30ml nipple top bottles of juice, up 6 batteries with multiple mods and Kayfuns, just make sure there's no batteries in the mods and your fine.

Juice bottles in Ziplocks is required but for some reason TSA has never had a problem with the Pelican case, then again...they've never looked, I carry a ziplock in my backpack just in case they wake up.

Boy, have you been lucky! I've been behind people multiple times who've not put liquids in the 1 required baggie...and have seen the TSA screeners trash it. I personally saw it happen in Atlanta, in Seattle, in Juneau, in Orlando, and other places.

Atlanta is where I just came from, I was lucky on this trip, TSA precheck in both directions might have helped.

I find when I travel for an amount of time that Extra juice is needed, I pack it in my checked bag. Since you DIY, I assume you have glass bottles, they are the best for air travel. I used two 120ML glass bottles with the type of tops that let you use a syringe for extraction. They have the rubber disk in them. These sealed perfectly on a multiple leg, overseas trip recently.
