Unfortunately yes, they are :glare: .. I am especially offended by a Chinese manufacturer thinking that they can set the rules for what happens in OUR MARKET. It is a privilege for them to be able to sell anything in the US market, and Yihi would benefit from a dose of humility. I read a post from I think an American living in China who tried to buy a SXmini from Varitube.com which was then canceled by Varitube because they are not allowed to ship to China :glare:

Clearly I like the Sxmini, it's a nice device, very sexy .. but I do not like Yihi the company at all. But if US vendors are willing to bow down to Yihi, and allow themselves to be stripped of the right to sell product at a price that each one deems fair and appropriate for their business in OUR free market, then I feel sad for them.

Do any US modders or ecig manufacturers have MAP policies? This is a serious question too ..
MAP is very common in higher end products, vape related or not.
Why is it a privilege for them to be selling their product here?

Sounds not good. Hope it didn`t get lost.

I ordered the V3 11.11 and arrived 12.5.. Very nice machined, only the 2 base o-rings should be changed to 17x1mm

What sold me on trying it is a video I saw on youtube posted by justdoeit, it's in another language but he know's the original and says this hotcig is the best clone. 1:1 This is a side by side video with the original, he shows how the parts swap is a perfect fit and match.

For me, all new builds have a break in period, regardless of wick or atty used. The flavor is always better after a full day of use, at least for me, and that is across the board.

For me as welll. The coils need to get seasoned. That first day I can't truly evaluate a new atty or build.

Because they stand to make a lot more money and establish a greater reputation in our market then they would in their own. Free market trade is a privilege to all ...

Agreed .. even as some builds and wicks produce better flavor straight away, they all usually get better after a full day of marinating in juice. After 24 hours of vaping a new atty and build is when I determine how good it really is.

I agree with you but for different reasons. Mine are more political and not appropriate for this thread.

Yihi is a one hit wonder (sx350) and is trying to capitalizing on that. I know you compared this with the VS rDNA 40 at the same price. I would choose (and did) the VS every day. It's an american company with an american chipset. I know you think it's bland but I think it looks great and well designed. The size is perfect for me and I love TP. It's been flawless for me in the month I've owned it.

MAP is illegal in some countries and very defined in others (like US). Unfortunately, there isn't a reseller in the US big enough to go after Yihi on antitrust charges so they get away with what they're doing which is basically extorting their reseller to sell at their price. There are ways around it like discount codes or member pricing if you join for a penny, etc.

Completely missed that it was a 17mm design. I seem to remember being told the full sized one is an upside down genny. Is the VS the same type of design?

I wouldn`t call it a genny design, i would say: an automatic tank dripper or just a flashy vapor :) . It´s a slim V3 - same design, nearly same length. Taifun GS and Heron are two similar atties but with a bottom air venting.

I would have an authentic Kayfun V4 right now if it were in stock .. but it ain't. Although I am not sure its worth $180, but I got it in my mind that it would be fun to do a comparison review with the clone, so that made it worth it to me  But I will not wait and wait for it though. I literally just picked up an authentic Aqua V2, batch 1 shark (score, thanks Rox), and I do feel its worth the price especially after trying the clone first, which I love. :)

SM made about 8000 pcs of the V4. Many shops in Germany are sold out, but SM has them still in stock.

There were 3 reasons why I bought the authentic. First, imho I never could get so much Kayfun for my money. Second, I liked the aestetic and technical design. Third, it`s release day was my birthday and that was a broad hint.

Imo the KFL and 3.1 lost a place in the atty top ranking. The V4 is performing a lot better than the 3.1 + KFL. The taste is not as yummy as a Heron or Rose, but came very close and offers more air. The V4 is very thirsty and the tank capacity is limited - first days I had to refill it 2 times a day. Because of the spring contact, it was not designed for sub ohm, but some users use it with a 0.15 Ohm nickel coil on an DNA40, but I guess there is a high power loss. If you like a tight draw, you will get some gurgling from time to time, but I´m not sure the Robbot version will do this too. Liquid and condensate can get into the air screw and when the air holes are nearly closed by the AFC screw, the liquid can`t run into the collector part and starts gurgling in front of the air holes. You can not draw the liquid back into the chamber, because the air screw is tappered on the deck side ( upside down is possible ). When the Robbot pics are right, the AFC screw seems to be drilled through with the same diameter - not tappered - and I guess it is possible to draw the liquid back into the chamber.( another not 1:1 aspect, but imo an improvement) If you prefer more air, it`s no problem at all.

If you have too much liquid in the chamber it is very easy to get rid of it. Just close the liquid control, vape the liquid away and open the LC again.

It is possible to refill from the top cap and like a Squape/FeV/GT. Leave the LC open, hold the V4 upside down, hold the air ring and screw the whole tank off and refill through the liquid holes in the chamber with a needle bottle.

Got my Tobeco Aqua v2 cleaned and built today. It came surprisingly clean, almost clean enough to build and vape out of the box but not quite. First build a 26ga single parallel coil shooting for .35 .4 the Sig reads as .3. First impressions are very positive. I liked my Aqua v1 but the occasional leak and the whistling were detractors. So far no leaks and no whistle and great flavor, I think the orchid v4 is now relegated to backup status. I also got a Rose v2 but draws taste like detergent so I'll have to reclean before I can try that one out.

Hmmm .. I am reserving final opinions on the V4 until I have had more time with it. The build quality is great, it looks great, but the vape is not really impressing me so far. Like the Squape was for me, not a bad vape but nothing that says "wow this is improved", at this moment I feel like its just a more complicated design. But I have to be fair to the device and allow myself more time with it to see if I can find a sweet spot.

Right now I have it built to 1.5 ohms and maybe that is the problem as I have been vaping at 1.2 down to .5 with most atties as of late. So I will keep playing with it ... about to change to the glass tank now.

I`m running it at 0.85 Ohm MC ( Heron 0,8 Ohm, Rose 0,88 Ohm ) on a mech mod. My first test was not very tasty because of a high voltage drop ( no good negative connection because of a not tightened screw ( #9 )

Yeah, when I am feeling less lazy I think I will rebuild it to .8-1.0 ohm and see how I like that.

I bought 5 feet of rayon today because of the recommendation in this thread. I am surprised how clean tasting it is, or at least it seems that way. There is no after taste that I am used to. I also think that the vapor is more dense than cotton. I cannot compare it to Japanese cotton as I have yet to try that but I do like this. I wicked it as I always do, the feel of it is different almost artificial while rolling it in my fingers. Strange
