Girl you better give something a go, always coming in here to tease us with what you almost got, and thinking about getting. :p Well, I got it, so it will be the battle of the 20 wattish devices between this and the Kamry 20 ... who will win??

i'm considering these both for a friend (who is vaping replaceable coil atomizers); the smok xpro 20 seems a bit better at a first look, will wait to it shows up in china warehouse..

Thank you so much for the response. Maybe it would be best to return it but I do have lots of soldering equipment and the back and forth from China is such a long process. Most of my soldering experience is with rewiring guitars. If it's a simple soldering repair I'm fine doing it myself but that could make returning it tricky if the fix doesn't work. Is this a common problem? I looked for a thread or video on how to fix it but nothing turned up.
Chances are the soldering will be the easy part. Getting the board out to where you can see to work on it is the iffy part- often these are hot glued in place and removing things can be difficult and there's a chance more damage would be done, and that would not be covered by the warranty. I'd send it back personally.

I just played the Lucky Draw game for the first time, and won $10! Beginners luck, I guess. :)

It's almost as good as winning the lottery, since every dollar I spend on vape gear has a lot of guilt attached to it (vaping is my guilty pleasure, lol). $10, guilt-free - yay!

I don't have a lot of experience with FC (I shop more at that other place ), so I'd love to get some recommendations from ya'll as to the best of FC.

I'm probably looking at picking up another mech (I have a Nemmy, a Stingray, and a Paps) or another RTA/RDA (I have a Taifun, several Kayfun Lite/+/v2s, a Rose v2, a Fogger 4.1, an Orchid V4, a Magma, a Mutation X, an Origen, a Veritas, a Quasar, an Omega, a Aerotank Mega, and a Nautilus).

What do you consider FC's most high-quality pieces, and what is missing from my existing collection that I should not be without?

Thanks!
I didn't see an Aqua in that nice list...

ETA I see these have been covered already, sorry- I was a few pages behind...

Fatdaddy vape has some replacement positive center post parts for RDAs, though I've never used them so not sure if it will work for you. By the way, what SKU number is your N22? I have one from FC too but haven't built it yet, just wondering if it's the same as yours.

Cant you just hammer it back in place? Sucks its loose though.

As for mechs, inswva loves one their SMPL clones but .. I can't remember which one it is, and I think FC has a couple of them.

The more expensive copper one is on my list (I think there are a couple - not the cheaper one). Inswva says that it's the one with the good switch. He wasn't too fond of the switch on the brass one - I have a feeling it's like the black one I have. It's not too bad, but it required a little polishing and sanding to get it to function smoothly. Problem I was having was the switch didn't press in all the way on parts of it, so you'd have to find just the right spot to press by twirling the mod around. But just a few minutes of sanding and polishing fixed that right up. :thumb: The switch design is based on V2 of the OG, so at least the "bones" are good. The copper and brass are clearcoated, which I like, but if patina is your thing, then you'd want to remove it. I may get the brass one too later, since it's so easy to fix, but I would like to try one with a "good" switch, just to see what that's like.

Oh, and you'll always wanna have a penny handy. ;)

My black SMPL is like driving a Dodge Ram (built like a Hemi truck). My copper Vapelyfe is like driving a Lexus (super-smooth touch switch). My First is like driving a Honda Fit (gets the job done).

I do love my FC copper SMPL. Out of four SMPL clones I've owned, it is far and away nicest and of the highest quality. Even came with the vaunted QC slip of paper, lol. Unfortunately, neither of the current copper offerings on FC are the same mod. I'm assuming a supplier switch was made at some point.

On a semi-related note, I did a voltage drop throwdown with some of my FC mechs last night. The winner? Of the FC mods, the copper Slug... which, speaking of nice mechs from FC, the Slugs are fantastic. Probably my very favorite FC mods. The Dimitri ain't bad either - I've been using it a lot more than I thought I would. The overall, and surprise, winner was the black rubberized brass A-Mod SMPL clone. Really had me scratching my head.

Voltage drop test results: (I didn't clean any of these prior to testing and the copper Slug and Dimitri are pretty much brand new - all tested using the same Mephisto V2 built to .21ohm)

FC SMPL copper 0.64V
SMPL Amod black 0.58V
Dimitri 0.76V
Brass Slug 0.84V (desperately needs to be cleaned)
Copper Slug 0.63V

So you just need a device with step down or variable voltage then .. do you want my Semovar clone? :D Haven't used it since I reviewed it (what else is new :p), and it comes will all 18XXX series batteries :D Its variable voltage and wattage :)

You are one stubborn Lady. But I guess I should know that as long as I have known you.
Your Juice is all packed, addressed, and ready for me to go the the PO tomorrow. :D
If you want to send me the Semovar clone, that's fine, but I wasn't looking for anything in return, its up to you. :)

Just tried it on a Veritas 1.6ohm at 20 watts and it happened on it also. It only happens when I take about 4-6 hits in a short amount of time but it does it on every topper I've tried. Does anybody know of some kind of fix for this or do I need to return it?"

Dang, that's too bad. A copper SMPL was pretty much at the top of my list, but I know that the quality on SMPL clones is A) a more critical due to some of the design features, and B) all over the boards, depending on the manufacturer. So, hmmm....

Thanks for the clarification, though! :thumb:

Great seeing the results of your voltage drop tests, too. Thanks for sharing!

I'm so bummed now. :( The price is the same and didn't even realize that they have the screw-on switches now, with the V1 wavy ridges, instead of the snap ring and just a couple of ridges. I guess it's off my list now. I hope they get the A-Mod ones in. I love these shorties.

bestpriceecig has the A-Mods. They are like $16 with free shipping. It's where my black SMPL came from. It's a nice mod... not as nice as my FC copper but miles better than the Moander SS or the FC brass.

This is my next FC purchase:

Love that it comes with a SXK Hobo and not whatever version I purchased from FC previously.

I wonder if your copper one was Kingtu... what did the box look like?

I bet the new one they replaced it with has magnets now, huh?

Packaging was just the common black box with SMPL on the top (and QC card inside which none of the others had). It has the nicest switch of any I've owned and the threading is perfect. If I could figure out who made it I'd likely buy another. Maybe I'll email Ms. Doris and see if she knows.

I just got that one too, but it came via Yosen with their Brass Praxis, also SXK made. It looks nice but dang is it small. I guess I should have expected that being name Le Petit Gros and all, but I didn't think it was that small

The Hobo is nice, all polished, has deeper engravings than the other FC Hobo that I got .. neither of which I have used yet

@Nikkita6

Do you have a link of the guy who tested the grade of many ss items ( Robbot ZNA f.e.) for me, please?

No honey, I don't. But go over to FC's FB page and scroll around and you may find it. I don't even remember what post it was under as I very rarely visit that page. But his name is Michael Hatch. Look around anything discussing the Robbot KF4 :)

Is Doris on vacation? I have sent her a couple emails in the last 4-5 days and she hasn't replied, maybe I wore out my welcome. I hope not, that would really make me sad, I like Doris, she's got a big heart.

No :( That is not like the bunny, I am sure its an oversight. I will leave her a skype message and ask her to snap out of it for ya ;-)

The last few days have been fairly hectic... *sigh*. In other news, the Dimitri will get the exposure it deserves next Saturday, Slugs two weeks after that. Just need to move my content to Wordpress and put some polish on it. :D

On a semi-related note, have you ever dealt with Scans Tech?

I am digging on the polished Hobo. Won't be pulling the trigger until next week sometime. Have to order a couple of Peko cases from Shapeways first so I can finish my mechanical bottom feeders.
