On my box mods I think I'll start inserting a piece of thin stiff plastic between the positive end of the battery and the terminal when not in use, kind of like how some "batteries included" items come packaged. They both already have magnets for the battery covers and ribbon under the batteries, so yanking the battery can be done quickly if needed while in use. Not quite so easy to do on my DNA Zero v2 clone, but in an emergency the battery will come out w/o loosening the ground screw by giving a strong yank on the ribbon under the battery. Plus I tend to not overtighten the ground screw in the first place.

Yeah, I can unscrew it with my finger. That's what I did Satuday. As I was rushing to the door I threw the atty across the room to the couch, dropped the sleeve, negative screw and battery. I did all that in seconds. Opened the front door and line drived it across the yard.

That's what I'm doing on the Zeros. Can't do that on all my mods.

Locking my mechs isn't enough? They are always locked if I'm not using it at that moment.

I would say from experience, I wouldn't just unscrew the bottom cap on a mech with battery still in it and class it as safe, I did that a while ago and the 510 pin fell out of the top of the mod and cause a meltdown on the battery, I have a big scorched circle on my table where I sit, where the battery vented right next to me.

I guess locking it is fine too but I still usually unscrew the atty just enough to break the connection. A lot of the time I remove the atty completely and store upside down like Kayfuns and other RTA that work on pressure...don't want them flooding while not in use.

That's crazy Nailz, I guess I'll stick to unscrewing the atty instead of battery cap.

I've got th DNA 40 board coming, I'm going to put a fuse between the battery and the board. In fact I'll get a few more fuses and put them in my other mods as well. The thought of a fire scares the hell out of me, I've seen what it's done to other people who been through a house fire and it's something I never want to go through. About twenty years ago a friend of mine lost his little boy to a house fire, his wife was also badly burned. They separated after, he never was the same, it was gut wrenching to think about the times I use to be at his house, his boy would bring toys and sit on my lap. I'm thankful you are OK Roxy. Please be careful folks, don't forget to clean and check those smoke detectors ever few months. :)

Where do you get the top cap?

Avid Vapor, $17.99. More than i wanted to spend but not as expensive as the other highend top cap makers.

Steam Tuners has one too but it's like twice the price plus international shipping.

I should mention that the top cap does not have the notches or whatever they are called that the original has to relieve pressure. When i top fill, i screw the cap on until it reaches the o-ring then i flip it upside down and finish screwing it on. The width of the drip tip is designed to accept another 510 drip tip. IMO that defeats the purpose of it being one piece, i would have preferred it a little narrower. The upside is that those little rubber carto caps fit perfectly in it and create a micro bore for intense flavor.

I'm sorry :(

Thanks, it happens. It didn't explode so it could have been worse. If it doesn't turn up I hope it helps get someone off tobacco. FWIW the eGrip performs pretty nicely with the RBA head and Max VG juice. I also stuffed the sides that have open liquid inlets with rayon, for it's size it was pretty awesome. I think it's size may have also played a role in it's disappearance because I can't imagine a situation where I'd miss my Sigelei 100+ on or around me.

Anyone here have the Orchid v4 that's up on the group buy page? I might bite anyway since it's so reasonably priced.
i got that one. it's working well, even better than my other orchid, v6; no leaks, no dry hits. tried single coil (filled the unused air hole with cotton, and wicked the 4 juice holes).
i love its airflow, but flavor didn't impress me; noticed some flavor muting, even burn taste too early (2nd-3rd tank), but my build could be the responsible of this.
so no very fan of orchids, but don't regret to try it considering the low price.
