Well, little update on the situation....

Received another email from Julie offering a $5 coupon for compensation since it is only a color difference. Nothing about it being defective at all, just the color difference. How can I even be sure on the next purchase that they'd ship the proper model? Looks like this is the first time I'm going to wind up eating a purchase from an overseas supplier.

Wowza, just checked the status on my orders from two group buys. Xvo stick ordered on 10/5, still collecting order. Kangxin squonker ordered on 10/17, still collecting orders. I get the Kangxin taking longer but the Xvo stick? I'm seriously tempted to cancel all my orders & just buy another Reo at this point. As much as I've been jealous & really enjoying reading everyone's experiences with their Xvo stick this is getting ridiculous! Sorry, had to vent, I knew throwing money at the Pacific Rim was a waiting game but sheesh.......
That's the thing I hate about group buys. You gotta wait for it to end, then you gotta wait for them to get it, then it's the slow boat to get it to you.

Well, i took apart the Kui to try and figure it out. took pics and sent them to doris, as well as a video of it auto firing. I can say this is a bad clone.

The metal that connects the 510 to the switch flaps around, theres nothing to hold it straight. I figured maybe a dab of glue on the 510 end to hold it straight, but nothing. the metal connecting the switch to the 510 will lay against either the battery contact or the wall of the mod causing it to continually fire even after the switch is released.

The bottles they provided were DOA from the start. I was able to use the cap they provided with the bottle of my Smokeless Owl clone (from GB) to make something that works and holds more juice. Its mentioned that the included bottle for the Kui is a 10ml bottle, but I dont believe it holds that much (didnt use syringe to fill it) but the bottle from the smokeless can hold 13ml plus the tube. more capacity is good.

Magnets dont really hold the door securely. Might have an issue where they're repelling instead of attracting.

And the last thing I did last night before calling it quits with the damn thing........ Got the door jammed. Wont slide up or down. was too aggravated to pursue the issue any farther and just left it alone for the night. Might revisit it this evening to salvage my juice bottle and battery to use with my smokeless owl (that started leaking recently)

On the bright side of all of this, I got to build my lowpro. Thats a neat little design. Hard to work with at first, but after you get the hang of it you can work it out. Did 10 wraps of 24ga around a little blue screwdriver and wound up with a .5x, and its a good vape. noisy little bugger though. also, make sure your coil is low enough that you dont melt your drip tip splashguard. (ask me how i know) Its got a great size juice well in it, feeds directly from the bottom so juice drains back into the bottle, and good flavor.

With all of that being said, I was really unhappy with the resolution provided by Julie, and I decided to email Doris again. Sent her pictures of the flappy metal bit, a video of the mod autofiring, and my review. Hopefully I'll be able to have this resolved. I just want a 22mm bottom feeder that isn't .....

@Big_Jim are you referring to the Kangxin version without the logo? If so I'll probably cancel my order & try the Steam Crave since they claim to have worked out the bugs. Honestly though with all these BF clones I should just buy another REO, they just flat out work & they're cheap for what they are.

I was interested in the Inoy, but this round of .... with FC has left a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm with you 100%, like I said I'm considering canceling all my order's & getting another REO. The clone thing can go either way then add the wait time plus if you have a problem that leaves device inoperative then it's just not worth it IMO. Not to rant but I can't believe how many times I've read on this forum that something doesn't work as intended when they receive it. Shocks me in today's times that MFR's sell an item that doesn't work but it happens frequently which is extremely disappointing to me. After waiting X amount of time to receive something then finally getting it only to find it doesn't work? No thanks, that wouldn't be acceptable in any business but it's a constant in this industry.

I think there is a lot of leeway with items like this because they are clones that cost a fraction of the original price, and they're coming from a cheap china wholesaler. Thats one of the main reasons i love the forums over on FT, to see which version of a product is the best (or least worst?)

Look at where that metal part that connects to the 510.Below that metal part, where the plastic tube slides on,should twist. It is threaded and basically screws up onto the upper part,if that is loose,it will allow that metal to flop, when tight, the metal shoudn't move.Mine came loose once,i tightened that up,and no movement at all.

I will try that once I can get the MFn thing open tonight haha. it didnt look like it would stay in place, it wasnt keyed at all.

worth a shot at this point.

Haha, yeah the door can be a pain, after it's worked up and down some,it will loosen up,but the first few times are rough. They aren't really keyed in place, the metal itself just has a round hole in it,and when looking at it all together,it looks like it is slid onto the 510 pin,but it is actually pinched between 2 parts of the tube.I almost broke mine trying to pry it off the tube at first because i didn't know it was a 2 piece tube.

My no logo Inoy squonker is here from the group buy. When I have some time in a bit to clean up my Velocity, I'll post my thoughts. So far all I can say is it looks nice and is much smaller than I expected from the photos,.which is good.

Looking forward to reading a review. Mine still hasn't shipped (ordered 10/22) so if your impressions aren't up to par, I might get a chance to cancel.

I hear you. I guess I've decided for the price if the chip croaks later, maybe I can wire a mosfet and use it unregulated.

Still playing with my birds, but I'll get to it soon.

I don't know how I got lucky that they shipped mine before the GB was over.
