Brand new to this board site and very impressed with the depth of information available, thank you to the multitude of contributors.
Recently i bought a Foggatti T22 - nice bit of machinery and having issues with my lack of building skills. I have been using a Kanger Aero for months and wanted to be a bit more adventurous hence the Foggatti.
When I make the u shaped wick and then wrap with this wire (fasttech.com/products/1521201) I keep getting a hot spot on my return wrap to the top post. There are four wraps and each time the smell is pretty bad and then it will snap. Surely i am just doing something simple and obviously stupid but as I mentioned previously, I am on a steep learning curve! As a further test i went for a single straight length of mesh with the secondary hold plugged, same issues.
How do i get rid of the smell?
Is there a simple fix for the overheating by the top post?
Can i just use (ecigg.org/Ekowool-wick-p/ekowool2.5mm.htm) silica cord instead or should i use cotton?
Any thoughts or advice is appreciated,
Eoin.
