I haven't used my fogger in a while and I started it up today and it's popping. juice isn't coming out but the vape is warm and you hear the popping end and can almost feel it. I took it a part and cleaned it. The cotton isn't singed and the coils look pretty clean. I don't know much about rbas so I'm kind of at a loss.:facepalm:

That`s the way I build mine, so it pops. .8 ohm 28g.

I like it when it sounds like a V8 with a really high cam (think top fuel dragster). Its warm, but not hot like a full blown dripper at .2
When the popping starts to subside, its time for a rewick.

It may help to know what you built it at and what it was doing prior? What you were used to it doing? What you are running it on, stuff like that.

Best.

I was sold the dripper with no info on rebuilding etc. they built it for me in the shop with 10 wraps. Unfortunately that's all I know. I haven't used it in a month so the coils and cotton are good. I had no idea what I was getting into when I bought it and now I'm trying to get my feet wet and start learning about rbas. It's a little overwhelming. It pops at whatever watts I run it on. I'm using a Hana clone battery.

Popping is OK, but you can eliminate it by being generous with cotton. I do two types of wicking:

1. Trim the cotton strands right at the juice channels - hotter vape, bogger airflow, popping.

2. Pull strands through the chimney, trim, and carefully stuff back leaving coils exposed (both from top and bottom) - cooler, tighter draw, quiet.

There are videos and tutorials on the interwebs covering both methods.

I tuck them into the channels on fogger and orchid....lots of airflow...noise but not juice popping....there is a cracking sound and then there is actual juice popping of the coil. I think it matters how you define popping.

Personally, I don't feel the need to hear it to know it is working...particularly in stealth vape scenarios.

Tucking the wick end in the channels has produced a quiet, warm (according to watts or volts set) and voluminous vape experience for me.

That being said, wick styles and preferences are as unique as the people who vape....so maybe you might want to fiddle and try different wick styles until you hit your sweet spot.
