Fogger v4, drilling "wire through" post holes

As the title suggests, I'm getting tired of struggling with my Fogger v4s and I'm considering drilling out "wire through" holes into the posts (like on the Fogger v5 and several RDAs). Has anyone attempted this, on the Fogger or some other atty? Is it feasible, and if so, how should I go about doing this?

An other word: We've been using Fogger 5.0 long before it came out:

1. Top filling and wire holes in the posts:
