Well howdy and welcome anyway

I think the rule is there to give new member an opportunity simply ask the question they came to the forum to have answered.

Really, if there’s something you want to know just ask. All kinds of folks are more than willing to help :)

Thank you.
Following rules was just a silly intro.
Just joined, completely new to vaping, trying to quit cigerettes and was curious on the success of switching to vape.
I love smoking.
I smoked for 27 years or so.
Did I mention that I love smoking?

I have not had a cigarette since March 15 2012.
I vape 6mg/ml freebase nicotine at a rate of ~10ml per day.
I vape as often and for as long as needed to keep the nicotine monkey quiet.
If you are committed to the change, you can be successful in reducing your cigarette intake.
You may even get all the way down to zero.

Best of luck!
I

Thank you.
Congratulations on no cigerettes!
What type of mod, and forgive me for I may get some of the linguistics wrong, do you use?
I've done quite a bit of research but theres always more to learn.

Will be 9 years in September since my last cigarette thanks to vaping.

Congratulations!
What combination of nicotine, if any, and mod/pen did you use when you first started?
Did you wish you had started on something different?

When we started there wasn’t a whole lot of options, not like there is today. My first kit was a 510 cigalike from Volcano. I wasn’t able to completely kick the cigarettes until I got ahold of some 48 mg/ml juice. That did it and I have settled in at 24 mg/ml now (after dropping as low as 6 for a short time).

Congratulations.
Any tips?

Thanks

First and most importantly, and you’ll hear it a thousand times here because it is vital, things will always break/quit/get lost/get stolen etc so always have back ups.

Second, there are some days where a craving will just hit out of the blue, have some liquid a little stronger than you normally vape for those times.

Third, have back ups for your back ups.

Fourth, if you fall off the wagon don’t beat yourself up. Every cigarette not smoked is a victory.

I’m sure others will throw in more but that’s my top 4.

Oh yeah, you’ve found an awesome support group in ECF, don’t be afraid to use it.

Here's to hoping it works.

As someone stated earlier, we didn't have a lot of options in the early days. I started with a little cigalike (similar to today's pods actually) and moved up to Ego and then to mods like Provari. I started with 24mg nic but gradually got down to 1.5 to 3 mg and that is where I remain.

Once I saw it worked, I happily bought/tried different setups as it was money better spent than on cigarettes. As already recommended, always have backups of everything. I had issues with gear the first week so made sure that never happened again. I chain vaped through the cravings and it got easier every day to not smoke.

I had dreams about smoking for several years, that is how powerful the addiction is. I would wake in a sweat thinking I had smoked cigs again. I know I won't go back to smoking but I stay vigilant and I have made sure that I have more than enough gear and diy supplies to last my lifetime. You might want to check into DIY, in case the various governments manage to destroy vaping at some point.
