Without checking Sthur's links, I would suggest you don't add coloring just on general principles. Life is full of uncertainties without adding something with no particular benefit.
Without reading the links (like everybody else, apparently), Just Say No. Don't add anything to your liquid that you don't have to, unless it's been tested for continuous inhalation and found safe.
I don't know if research exists for food coloring, but I would tend to doubt it. So in this case, I'd avoid it.
