Hi Guy's & Gal's,
Today I'm sitting in my office all Toasty & Warm during a nice cold day. In deep thought, I hear this vibrating noise coming from my "Pellet Stove" I go over and place my hand on the stoves top and it's ever so slightly vibrating from the "Fan" & "Auger" running. Just enough vibration not to drive me crazy and enough heat to touch yet very "warm"...

I thought, this is total elements for "steeping ejuice"..

I took a Fruit Loops FW concentrate that always takes 2 weeks to naturally steep before it totally matures into a good flavor and I mixed a batch up.. I sat the bottle on-top the stove and off it went. The liquid slightly moving/mixing before my eyes. After about 10min the 50/50 pg/vg mix became "thinner" (from the heat). I let it sit for 3hrs. I just filled a MT3 tank full and BAM. The juice is perfect in only 3hrs. I know everyone doesn't have a pellet stove. But the ones who do you got to try this!

I have a few more flkavors I want to try. I did the Fruit Loops as it's a flavor I have mixed many times from FW and 2 weeks is what it takes before the flavor is true.. Had to share the story....

My take on steeping is that it should only be done to DYI e-juices. If it's a premade juice, the vendor should already have done that if needed, else they're selling you a defective product.

I think a good part of the "steeping" process happens in people's brains. You leave the lid off obnoxious e-juice and condition yourself to the fragrances. Much like "burning in" a pair of headphones, it's not the product that changes but the perceptions.

I think you've never had the pleasure of vaping a quality complex juice or vanilla custard type juice that takes a minimum of 4-6 weeks for the true flavor to shine through. Trust me, steeping does work and it's definatly not just something that happens in peoples brains lol.

In amplifiers, burn-in is purely a phenomenon of psychology. In headphones and speakers, a case can be made that the mechanical parts settle in, but it's probably mostly psychology there too.

In juice, stuff actually happens. I'm not saying there's not a psychological element to steeping too, but something is actually happening in the juice itself. I don't know to what degree chemical processes are involved, but at the very least molecules do disperse.

Most vendors don't mix the juice until the order is placed. This is done because there are usually many options when ordering, such as nicotine level, flavor boost, and PG/VG ratio. It would not be realistic for a vendor to keep so many juices on hand/steeping that would meet these options for when a customer places an order.

Just because a vendor "should" have done it, doesn't mean they did actually do it. Many if not all of the vendors I have bought from suggest to breathe and shake their juice. I don't think they would suggest it if it wasn't actually needed, or if it was completely psychological.

And I've gotten juice that smelled straight up rank when first opened, but after steeping and shaking daily for 2 weeks, it became one of my adv's. Not to mention....some juices will actually change color when steeping/breathing. Some juices contain alcohol, with evaporates when breathing.

Might not seem like much, but I have a feeling a lot is going on in that wonderful, tasty juice.

I remember when I used to work offshore.... there was this crane operator that would constantly complain that "this isnt right, that isnt right"... so I would take the big hammer and pound on the wall of the crane a few times and then ask him hows it work now?? a few motions of the controls and he would report back that everything was fine......

I find that when my computer at work is having issues or being really slow that if I get up and walk around the office for a minute it works just fine when I come back?! So it must be that it doesn't like to be watched!

But seriously, I do believe in steeping juices, most I have made have a significant increase in flavor, or a mellowing out of harshness afterward's. I steep in a crockpot. I like the end results.

Never thought of the crockpot. Excellent idea. I would imagine it speeds the steeping process.

I used to believe this as well but some juices do become "better" over time. My limit is 2 weeks. If after that it still taste like poop in the garbage it goes.
