I guess I'm still learning how to take this thing apart to fill. I'm not understanding why, when unscrewing the bottom, it pushes the top cap off. So far the only thing I can see to do is unscrew the bottom till the top cap come off, get the bottom off, then re attach the top, then fill from the bottom, and screw the bottom back in tight.

To be honest, I'm not using these much any longer because I'm conserving the coils in case I won't be able to order from FT at any point, and my husband is wedded to the Nauti Mini (and me, of course! :p), so I mostly don't use them myself, to make sure we have enough to last us a while if the time comes we can only buy locally at ~3€ per coil.

BUT without enacting it in the moment, my memory is that I hold the tank upside down, put the drip tip between my index and second finger with the top of the tank lying flat between those two fingers , and hold on to the upside down tank glass with the bottom of my thumb and my index finger, wrapping my other fingers also around the glass, then twist off the end with my other hand while pulling up.

So, in other words, the whole tank is held in a loose (fingers are not curled in) fist in my left hand, which holds it all together, while I unscrew the bottom and then fill and re-attach with my right (prominent) hand.

It's simple, but hard to describe! If this doesn't seem to make a lot of sense I'll try a photo tomorrow. Let me know!

Well I guess that works. I did it as best I could going by your description twice so far, and no problems. :)

Thus far I am loving my Kabuki and Vika Fantasy clones. I would say they compare favorably with the Aqua 2 and the Squape R2, which have always been the standard against which I measure any new tanks. I have ordered a metal tank sleeve for the Kabuki and will see if it fits the clone. I will let everyone know how that works out.

Received the metal sleeve and put it on my Kabuki clone. Works but it is not an exact fit. Small gap at the top or bottom. or both if you split the difference. It does not leak, which is what I have been most worried about, so it is functional, but for those who are concerned about the aesthetics they may find it mildly unsatisfying. I do not own a Kabuki original yet so I have never had a chance to see if the glass tank on the original would suffer the same size differential when put on the clone. The sleeve is for the original of course. Has anyone who owns the original and the clone tried this?
