Luckily i only drink about once a year, but when i do drink, i want to smoke.

I do smoke pot every now and then though, and it makes me want to light up, but im quitting that soon, but thats easy to stop for me.

I might have to try a menthol and see how it works out for me.

Thanks for everyones input! Glad to see it turn into a good thread....

Im 20 days into vaping, the first 2 days were the hardest for me. Instead of dreams of sugar plums dancing in my head, it was analog cigs. But once I got past the second day and learned better how to get the nic into my system the better it has been. I smoked for 40 years, tryed to quite many times, tried all the FDA approved ways, each time to fail. I'm even certified in teaching people how to get off analogs. Which didnt help me much. In 40 years, 6 months was the longest time smoke free.
For the most part im totally at ease now, that comfortable feeling you get when there is no craving. I start vaping as soon as I get up like I would have with the analog, in all my days routine I vape as if it were the analog so it has taken the place. There are moments when I havent vaped enought or I have been talking about analogs that I get that pang. So yea talking about analogs I guess would be my trigger.

My incentive to stay quit is being able to breath again, not having the nasty smell on me and the big thing is money, it was costing over 400.00 a month between my SO and me. Having that ive never really tasted food my whole adult life that has been the hardest part about this whole thing, getting my taste buds back ive found food that I used to really like im not liking so much anymore.

I am having trouble finding that perfect all day vaping juice, Licorice has been good but not all day. I found that tobacco flavors are horrible tasting and have gone the way of sweet fruit, candy, desert type flavors. So the search continues.

The morning craves stopped about a week into vaping, and it was a huge win in my book.

Now the only time I have a crave is when I'm watching someone on tv smoke. In person, I'm fine. No worries. But watching someone smoke on tv and I don't need a cig, I HAVE TO HAVE A CIG! I don't know what it is, but I instantly think of running to the gas station. Luckily I've held strong and just vaped away.

At this point I really don't have any of those got to have a smoke now cravings, vaping seems to have taken care of that aspect of quitting. However as stated in some earlier posts routines/personal habits are the ones that catch me at times and have left me stuck for a split instant, totally dumbfounded more than once...

After 30+ years of smoking I guess I am still programmed to get that smoke after doing certain things, without thinking about I found myself turning and reaching to a specific spot on the counter for a pack that wasn't there, then I realized what I did and almost couldn't believe it...

Oh man, im the same way. My girlfriends a SAG member(actress) and were both movie lovers, so i watch A LOT of movies. I mean a lot. For the most part Ive seen every almost every movie thats come out in the past 6 months.

In almost EVERY movie someone smokes. I never noticed it before, but now that i dont smoke them, i have like super vision for analogs. For a while it really got to me, but now when were at the movie theater we try to sit somewhere in the back, or away from people so i can vape away without anyone getting mad.

I just exhale slowly and down, and i usually hear people say "Wow whats that smell, is someone eating a peach?!"

I once took a class that said each activity tied to smoking is like a thread. Each time you resist you cut another thread. Takes a long time to get them all....first birthday as a non-smoker, first Christmas as a non-smoker, first expensive night out as a non-smoker, first time walking out of a classroom or the office....

I found this was generally true. But, yeah, seems like there's always 1 or 2 things that have frickin' ropes made out of a thousand threads.

I could not have stopped smoking before I found my all-day vape, but then I wasn't really trying to quit at the time, I was trying to START vaping and figured I'd see how it goes. So I only quit on Jan 1, after about 9 months of vaping.

Now I seem to mostly have 2 triggers (my first-in-the-morning trigger lasted a week, but it's gone now.) They are: taking a deep breath outside on a sunny day, and getting really upset. Both are a little rare now LOL but in California we do get cold sunny days when we aren't having a storm.

Still vaping...but tonight I got really upset and the only thing that saved me was not wanting to take down my banner.

I used a combo of nicotine patch and vaping to quit. It worked quite well. There are a couple times when I've half caught myself starting to go outside for a smoke, then remembered I don't anymore. Mostly my trigger is when I get up to "take a break" from some task. A puff or three on the PV and I'm good.

What I was most surprised about was that I don't like any of the tobacco flavors I have tested so far. I'm going much sweeter than that. Carmel mixes have been my faves so far.

Gaming.
When I was on analogs, I could easily light up 4 in an hour and dear god did I make a mess because I just let the ash drop half the time.
Now that I have to hit a button to get that nic hit, I sometimes itch for a cig just for the ease of use

I for one wouldn't mind seeing some kind of VV/VW APV with what I guess you could call a reverse passthrough.
The idea going through my head is essentially an extension cord for the contact post where the battery/etc would be on the desk and the atty system would be between my teeth. Maybe even some kind of remote auto-switch(E-hookah?)

Thats one of the only things i liked about the blu ecigs... Whenever i play my ps3, could keep it in between my teeth and smoke it while i play, hands free.... but i think it made me smoke too much, i like having a button because its not as accessable and as easy to smoke...

I misplaced my Provari last night after I came home and my 17 year old was so drunk he couldnt even stand up. dumba....err poor kid was so drunk he fell head first into the bath tub trying to throw up in the toilet.

I REALLY wanted a cigarette, even contemplated going to the convenience store for one but thankfully I found it and got him all taken care of.

He's in his room right now wondering what his punishment is going to be.

Bear in mind I have no kids, so grain of salt and all...

I'd make him keep a glass of whatever he got trashed on around him all day (supervised and not for drinking, of course). The smell and residual hangover should go far in making it one of the most unpleasant days in his memory.
