Let me save you some trouble and say that if you're ANYTHING like me...save yourself some time and money and don't do it...just lick an ashtray instead. I don't remember them ever tasting like that before I started vaping!

I decided I'd light one up just to see how it was....plain old nasty. Thank God my juice tastes so good...I could never go back to cigarettes.

So paradox...help a fellow vaper out here. What is the juice that you use that makes an analog taste & smell so bad? I would like to know as I still smoke a ciggy about every other day or so. I would try out your juice flavor. It would serve me well to finally get rid of my need/want/obsession for a cigarette.
Thanks in advance

I vape Vermillion River Kentucky Premium Blend and Kentucky Applewood. Obiviously individual tastes are different but I can't get enough of the stuff. I have dropped all the way down to 5mg nicotine(partially had to because I'd vape myself sick with the higher levels..couldn't put it down, lol) but also because it satisfies me.

I always find it to be a hard flavor to explain because I think saying "its a tobacco flavor" doesn't do it justice and is also misleading. It tastes nothing like a cigarette but to me, the tastes reminds me of freshly hung tobacco in a barn. You can get a free sample from Vermillion if you'd like.

I've debated about this myself, should I go light one up and just to remind myself how bad the last one tasted.

Up to this point I haven't done it, I figure after finally being able to put the analogs down after 40 years I'm just not going to try another one. I don't think I can afford the risk falling back into the habit of smoking.

Thanks for the reminder Paradox!

How did we smoke for so many years???

Thats all that kept running through my head, lol. I remember back when I was smoking..the cigarette smelled "sooooo good" and I just couldn't wait to light one up and puff away. I had to smoke after eating because it made it all so much better! I guess I just had myself convinced.

For the record, I didn't smoke the whole cigarette but I doubt I could've if I had tried.

The hope they taste bad is a risk. It really depends on your mindset at the time.
When I switched to pipes for 2 years cigarettes quickly got the smelly sweat sock odor. Compared to most pipe tobaccos cigarettes are almost floor sweepings (they actually are in some cases). When I picked one up in an extended moment of weakness it tasted good and it felt good. Almost instantly I was back to smoking like I had never stopped.

I did it last weekend. They cost EIGHT BUCKS A PACK now. I didn't enjoy a single one of them. I was so glad when they were gone. Wonder if I'll always wonder about them? Probably. *sigh* But I suppose one pack every couple of months is way better than a couple packs a day.

Anything at all is better than an every day smoking habit. Don't feel bad about it if you smoke a cigarette every now and again..whatever it takes to make your life healthier than it was before. I haven't even looked at cigarette prices here since I quit..I imagine that not too terribly much has changed.

and Nansc...lol, its funny to think about all those times where "I JUST GOTTA HAVE A CIGARETTE!" While they certainly did calm me down and help me through some things, it funny to think I wanted something that tasted like ashes.

Analogs taste bad all by themselves.

More seriously though, you might try stepping up your nicotine level. Many people who had trouble transitioning found that to be the key to kicking analogs for good.

Also a really good way to try a bunch of different flavors on the cheap is to get involved in the Pay It Forward social group.

I have been in a different situation than most. My wife started to quits using the gum and I started vaping. After three or 4 months she gave up on the gum and started smoking again. Since then, every month or two I've bummed one. Usually almost immediately after I lit it I realized it was the wrong thing to do. Tastes nasty, the smell lingers in a way I never noticed before. She's vaping now but, even if she was smoking, I'd decided I had enough. It took a few tries to convince me but, I'm done.

i've noticed this thing about smokers. if you're not smoking a "real" cig, they feel as if you're deprived in some way and out of the goodness of their hearts they really really want to share with you the "genuine experience" of smoking a cig.
i noticed this when i hand rolled my own smokes (and preferred them this way), and it holds true when someone sees that you are vaping.
when i first started vaping i would accept these cigarettes, just cuz. the last one i accepted was in dec when i was at a work xmas party and one of my vision clearomizers decided to disarticulate when i was walking on my way there. i couldn't even finish the damn thing, and i felt pretty terrible. i also accepted a cheap low grade cig my mom likes, which i hated even when i was smoking tailor mades, when i was enduring a trip to the apple store. i wasn't yet accustomed to my current power outlets, and didn't realize that my 650 mah batts were only charging for about 5 mins of use. they were randomly dying and i didn't want to "embarrass myself" by vaping a dying device with the smokers. seriously. from the lingering smell my clothes, hands, hair, and breath i swore i would never touch another cigarette again. mission accomplished.
whenever i'm hanging outside my venue/bar vaping and someone offers me a cig, i just let them know they don't realize how yucky it is til they've tried vaping for a while.
ugh.
