The good thing about copper is it is easy to polish it back to like new looking, a little bit of Never Dull, or Brasso will remove the verdigris that your pics show,(the green stuff) of course then it will be all shiny new again, or you could scrub it really good with a coarse rag, ( like old blue jean fabric) with some dish detergent, then dry it and do the same with an oil, like WD40, rub, rub, rub...then clean the oil off with some isopropyl alcohol.
