He works for njoy, why wouldn't he be opposed? :2c:

As long as he's opposed and his credentials are valid, that's what matters to me. Whether his pull is little or lot, it's pull we need. I may not like NJoy due to personal preferences (I like mechs and rba's/RTA's), but I'm happy to see him stepping to the plate on the matter.

We need more big names to step to the plate. This is a small step, but it's a step in the right direction.

I'm going to start including this and the Burstyn study in packets for my family and neighbors -- ESPECIALLY the non-nicotine-using people whose support I need, since that is DIFFERENT from how they would feel about supporting a smoking family member.

See the Lab Reports page under Facts & Science on the casaa web site:

It will be a lot less ignored if it is put out there time and again by us, just like their lies are put out time and again by THEM. (I'm not talking FDA here, I'm talking cities/counties.)

But even at the federal level, the more people that tell their buddies over coffee "hey, did you know....." the fewer clueless people there are to support the ANTZ by accident. Since it looks to me like 90% of vapers don't know there's a problem AT ALL, and almost NONE of our family members understand until I point out that tacos are ALSO not submitted to the FDA for testing so nobody knows what's in TACOS (or coffee, or anything from anybody's favorite restaurants or home cooking) they don't get it that "submit to the FDA" is NOT the right standard. To anybody who doesn't yet have a purple heart (lung? ecig?) in this war "they have not been FDA-approved" sounds like a perfectly reasonable reason to be alarmed. (I think several blood pressure incidents and several near-upchucks of dinner after sitting in an ANTZ meeting for 3.5 hours should count for a purple SOMETHING!)

It would be nice if TVECA's president Tom Kiklas would send a letter to NYC members and clarify the misstatement made during the hearing as to what he meant by "e cigs should be considered a tobacco product". That councilman was real strong on using that to assert that Kiklas felt that e cigs should be treated like smoking. That is the perversion that was created by the ANTZ to make smoking, tobacco and nicotine synonymous.

The TVECA's Tom Kiklas sent the following letter to NYC Council members last Wednesday afternoon.

Dear New York City Council Member,

Today in the New York City Council's hearing on the proposed ban on the use of electronic cigarettes, it was stated that myself and the e-cig industry association, The Tobacco Vapor Electronic Cigarette Association, I Co-Founded was in support of the ban. Please read below our statement correcting your record:

First, THE TVECA SUPPORTS NO BAN ON THE USE OF ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES IN ANY FORM

We, at the TVECA, support the FDA in regulating the e-cigarette under their authority over tobacco products.

Tobacco products are defined as products that are derived from stem or leaf of a tobacco plant.
We do not support the same restrictions on e-cigarettes as those that are currently in place for conventional cigarettes.

E-cigarettes are less harmful than conventional cigarettes and have zero history of harm. The ability to use this product should be expanded not reduced.

Restrictions on e-cigarettes should be less restrictive than conventional tobacco cigarettes.

We do not support a ban or overreaching regulations for the e cigarette.

The TVECA is currently working on logical and responsible regulations for all 28 EU countries under the TPD (tobacco product directive).

Thomas Kiklas was misquoted as he intended to say the above.
