my response:

"..... - go look in your medicine cabinet, then under your sink, and then in your garage. You will find at LEAST 20 or 30 more bottles of STUFF that will kill you just as dead. If you have e-cig juice in your house, treat it with the same respect that you would give bleach, borax, weed killer, anti-depressants, blah blah blah.... get the point? (yes, a tiny bit of borax will kill you very dead)

Your "KIDS" jab is especially stupid. I have kids. I am smart enough to put all the above listed poisons out of reach or locked up. Anybody so stupid to not do that, shouldn't have kids to begin with."

<ROFL> There ought to be a written exam you have to pass before you can post on the internet...

I actually don't understand, is the guy who runs E Cigarette Direct: The Tobacco-Free Smoking Alternative posting this on his OWN blog?

Fear mongering with infamous "kill the children" scare tactics? Why spread such horrible thoughts about the product you sell, with all the problems we are already having with bad e-cig P.R.?

Or does he have an e-cig website with a blog that anyone can just post whatever they want on... very strange, this e-cig blog...

Jamie, you aren't "JAMES" are you? If so, no personal offense intended, although I sincerely hope you didn't actually write that blog yourself...

... confused about the intention of the subject post, and this thread in general...

No no, I'm not "JAMES". And I haven't posted on that blog. No offense taken. :)

My reasons for this thread were
a) noticing another external reference to the forum
b) something that has been discussed here: posting comments that may bite us elsewhere
c) something that has been discussed here: juice dangers

i thought i would leave a reply:-

hi all,

yes, e-liquid could be very dangerous if it got into the hands of a small child. but as other sensible people have suggested, you simply need to keep it out of their reach.......problem solved!

i review electronic cigarettes on youtube and speak regularly with many different suppliers. i would like you guys to know that nearly every e-cig company i speak to are now bringing in safety measures such as child proof lids to make sure that e-liquid will be as safe as possible. one company called TECC (theelectroniccigarette.co.uk)even have all their cartridges now sent out in child proof containers.

the correct steps are gradually being put in place by e-cig companies to ensure total safety, but ultimately the safe and appropriate use of liquid nicotine is the responsibility of the user.

cheers,

scott / igetcha69 on youtube

Thank you! How many of these ...... leave/left their analogs on the coffee table with a lighter. A small child or pet chewing on a pack can get nicotine poisoning. A child proof container probably won't be as effective as a lock. Pets can chew through them. Most kids can get into them faster than adults and Mr. Yuk stickers only work on kids old enough to understand what they mean. The key is to keep the nicotine out of reach of children and pets. IMHO if you're old enough to smoke or vape you should be able to understand this.

As the poster who was quoted (out of context), I'm a little ticked off. It was, in context, a joking comment. The e-liquids are not pure nicotine. I've got no doubt that drinking a 3cc bottle would leave you not feeling very well, though.

I'm not even going to bother commenting there. I've no doubt of the futility of such an attempt.

The problem with this logic is that the douchebags may also include senators, FDA, WHO, ACS, or whoever else may want to use this statement against us. I'm not blaming anyone personally, as I think everyone jokes and has fun, the problem is, that some of our statements may (read WILL) come back to bite us where we sit. We need to proactively be fixing thse problems, and unfotunately juice is a big one. All suppliers or manufacturers of juice need to start putting child proof caps, and warning labels and not in the near future, now. I've seen alot of talk on how to fight Congress, the FDA etc.... and don't misread me, I am all for it, but we also need to take these basic, simple steps to make our e-cig more acceptable to the masses...... bottles, child proof caps, and warning labels are easy, and don't raise cost much. I don't think thing most of us would mind a .50 to 1.00 increase in price of a bottle to see a safer, more acceptable packaging that may help or e-smoking survive. The author of that blog wrote something very damaging, whether it was intentional or not, and now is the time to fix it. Big Brother reads forums too.
