forum redirect

Hello,

I'm generally the silent type, so I'm just now registering, and am limited to posting here. I was showing my brother and a friend information on vaporizers, when I ran into issues. I can see a thread on this in the site feedback, and just wanted to share some information:

I'm having the redirect issue to We Are The Cheapest Online-Drugstore , both from google (and bing), and randomly when navigating the forum. I was initially concerned that I had a rootkit, but I'm having my doubts. I get the same thing from:
1. My computer
2. My laptop (that I rarely use)
3. My iphone
4. Brother's computer (different network)
5. Friend's android

Since this issue is popping up on different platforms, I'm doubting it's a rootkit. I will of course be scanning anyway, but this probably warrants a second look.

Welcome to ECF - not sure what you are talking about because it is way over my head. You need 5 posts to be able to post elsewhere on the forum so chat up and see if it fixes your issues.

i'm experiencing the same thing as the original poster here.

using:

PC running windows7- firefox browser
Mac OSX snowleopard- firefox browser
Samsung phone using the installed browsers google search

the only search engine i've used has been google on the above hardware.

when i enter "ecf" in the google search window, one of the first results is this forum.
the displayed url is correct, and can be copy pasted in the browser to get here.
however, if i click on the selection in google, i am not brought to this forum.
i am brought to a canadian pharmacy site with a different url.
i have also been sent to that site while trying to register here using the links at the top of the forum.

I'm using Firefox and haven't had any problems. Just tried a Google search and it took me right here. Sorry I'm no help.

thanks for the welcome, i've been coming here since ... the Tesla filter videos ...about a year.
it has been kind of routine for me to just type "ecf" in my search bar and get here when i'm on a computer.
i do have a shortcut saved on my phone though.
great place to come and learn.

the two computers i have had this happen on are on a network together.
the pc was new on sunday- 2 days ago, virus scanned etc.
the mac has been scanned, and well it's a mac, and hopefully not prone to these things.
the surprise was when, just for giggles, i tried my phone's google search.
then, i found this thread.
i had to sign up.

by the way, the link CES put in the other thread brought me to that site as well.

Yep, I just tried it out and I got redirected to that canadian pharmacy page too (that just happens to be selling disposable e-cigs).

I went to a new tab in Firefox (I'm using Windows 7), typed in "ecf" in the google search and one of the results was:

When I clicked on the link it took me to: //cool-smile.com/item.php?id=6340


So yeah, someone has a redirect running for ecf. I think a Mod or someone needs to take a look into this. It actually happened to me earlier today when I was looking for reviews on the eGo-T. I did a google search and saw a link to a post here in ECF, I clicked it and it took me to that site. I thought it was just my computer. There I go thinkin' again.

This is really annoying. I clicked on the link you gave us to the other thread about this issue. It took me to the thread, but THREE times I tried to post a quick reply in that thread, I got redirected to that @#$@ canadian site, so I couldn't post in that thread.

Weird. Try going to through main forum page. The thread I posted a link to is located in the site feedback and help section.
