It's been driving me crazy, trying to find another application where this thread size for the 510 atty/battery is being used.

Finally found one. It is being used on an older Dremel Tool that I have. This is a cordless Dremel Tool complete with a Battery Charging Pack.

At any rate the thread size of interest is used for the screw on collet holder, that goes on the end.!! Surprise Surprise.

I'm also thinking this tool is an ideal candidate for new vaping mod thingie. It already has a NICAD battery pack, and is highly portable.

Dremel model "Multi Pro" Cordless, 7.2V model 770 type 1.

I suspect my other Dremel Tool, regular AC model uses the same size collet screw.

Oh well, I am really just excited to see that this crazy thread size is actually used in other applications, besides just these 510 connectors.

Oh well it's close but??? I eyed balled the threads and the shaft diameter, against my atty earlier and they lined up. My 510 battery screws on just fine on the end of the Dremel Shaft.

But when I got home I lined up my atty threads with the dremel threads under a X15 magnifier. It appears that 4 of the 5 available threads line up, but then the 5th just barely falls away.

Aw, 4 out of 5 isn't so bad. And Like I said the battery screws on perfectly without any resistance or binding.

It is also my understanding that Dremel keeps their thread sizes propriatary, so you can't ask them, as least as far as I understand it.

But everything seems to fit just fine.

I'm glad you posted this. My husband is a mechanic & he does quite a bit of modding, so I asked him........."so, this 510 thing, what is it in mechanic talk, or what kind of stuff do you use it on?" My husband had no answer, except for telling me that he'd need to do some "matching it up" to figure it out.

Awesome!!!

~ so now I tell my husband about this & he says he has one at work in his matco set.

The 510 thing is a reference to the Joye 510 battery and atomizer connectors, used on their ecigs.
