My take: Color me paranoid if you want to, but I want to see USP and the word VEGETABLE on my glycerin and NO OTHER INGREDIENTS (especially no 3 in 1 oil ).
@OP: See if you can find some 100 percent vegetable glycerin. It's usually made from palm oil in your neck of the woods and many consider food grade to be good enough as long as it's vegetable and not animal or synthetic.

In theory, I think it's suppose to be the same molecules regardless of what plant it comes from. But I've seen a few posts where folks feel it's slightly sweeter if it's from palm kernel oil or coconut. Who knows, they could be right.
I'll look through my history and see if I can find some of the links.
Edit: Found one. In the post from Hellen A. Handbasket she mentions Starwest. I've also seen companies that claim coconut as the source which I would think should be the same.
