Just wanted to say, heeeeeyyyyy yyyyyooouuuuu ggggguuuuuuyyyyysssss...

Decided that I was through with my fifteen year cigarette habit last weekend after stumbling on Todd's YouTube channel. Went wild and dropped way too much money on vape gear and juice. Everything came in this morning... An MVP2, Origen 2 w/ the long drip tip, a bunch of different Nicoticket juices, .25mm coil, ohm meter and a Steel Punk Slug for when I've mastered the previous stuff.

I've been mucking about with the MVP2 all morning watching the world cup... Cool, cool... Firing the H1N1, playing with the voltage and whatnot, but wanted a harder hit so I got a bit cheeky and decided to go pick up some organic cotton and try to build a coil/wick. I've just finished this thing... Busted open the Origen 2 and, weary of my ampage, made a single coil reading 2ohms, threw it on this MVP2 at 5volts.... Custardddddd. Gaaah.

Hitting much harder. Snap, crackle, pop. I can't even handle it. You guys are crazy.

Anyhow, just relaying my experience so far. I do have a couple of questions though if anyone feels like laying down the knowledge. The MVP2 came with an iClear 30Clearomizer. How do I go about cleaning this thing? And how often should I replace it, or is there a better one I should get? What's the routine for cleaning my dripper? Things did get a bit sticky toward the end of my Origen build after initially wetting the wick and reserve cotton. Forgive my ignorance!

Thanks guys, this place has been a huge resource! Going to get a lot more builds in, including a dual coil, before I even think about trying the Slug... Though, honestly, I'm not sure I really even need it!!

Since you managed a 2 ohm coil as it is, I feel that perhaps you shouldn't stick with clearos. They'll likely never live up to what you build in the dripper. For something in between the hard hit of a dripper and the muted effect of a clearo, I would go for an RTA. Something like the Kayfun, Russian 91% etc...

If you do want to stick to clearos, you can try soaking the atomizer of the iClear 30 in some vodka, rinse it, and then dry burn it. Long wicks like that do tend to retain the previous flavor though. I cleaned and dry burned at every tank fill. Also, go for a glass clearo if you want to stick with clearos. The Aerotank was good I heard, since you can adjust air flow. Same with the Nautilus.

Overall though, you can get the convenience of a tank clearo with a Kayfun though. Holds a lot, adjustable air flow, tastes better then a clearo, and you can build coils already.

The iClear 30 are nice clearos, but suffer from the same problem with most top coil cartos, the wicks are far too long to properly keep the coil wet enough. I trim the wicks down to about 1/4 to 1/2 inch and fluff the up a bit, tipping your MVP to take a hit will keep the coil saturated.

Also being as the iClear 30 are dual coil you can boost the voltage up to 5v without problem, the power is split between the coils.

Do you know if I need a new atomizer with the wicks every time I want to change liquids in the iClear 30?

No, you can soak, rinse and dry burn the coils. Cleaning / Dry Burning iClear 30s Clearomizer.

I have not used the iClear 30's but I do this with all my Protank coils. I only dry burn my coils when the performance of the coil falls off. When I am vaping eliquid that is light colored (i.e. fruits) I can usually run a couple of tanks before I need to dry burn the coils. Dark eliquid tends to gunk up the coils faster.

Thanks for the info, you two! Really, really helpful.

I am really, really liking this Origen over the iClear... It's like a giant mouthful of flavor with every pull. Never experienced anything like this before! Wasn't getting that with the clearo. Only thing is that I can't see it being very convenient if I'm outside the house.

Is the Kayfun the best sort of thing if you're on the move?

Yep. Either a Kayfun Lite or a Russian 91%. Ehpro makes a really good Kayfun Lite clone if budget is an issue. Hcigar makes a good Kayfun 3.1 clone, but the Lite is easier to fill and deal with in my opinion. Just keep your coils around the same as you did for your dripper in order to use it on your MVP 2.

I got a couple of the I clears when I bought my first kit. I ponied up for the nautilus tanks instead on the spot. Mainly cause I am in the heat all day working. And I need a solid dependable ,large tank that I don't have to tinker with or worry about during the day I soak my coils in vodka and and let them dry or dry burn them every few days just to keep them vaping smooth. I'm a flavor junkie. So I have several Of the nautilus tanks now And if you do like building and tinkering. The kayfun is the way to go. Or the kF lite

This site is amazing btw. The people. The information. The family. ECF
