I've always thought the future PV will have a different heating mechanism. The coils are our weakest link. I saw one guy heat up a hypodermic needle to soften it then thread the resistance wire through the hypodermic needle then wrap the needle with the resistance wire going through it around a jewelers screwdriver 4 times and called it a sealed element [home made]. Putting an extra half a volt through it then normal it performed the same accept he claims to have gotten 7 months out of it before it popped out.
Another thought I had was from looking at "Air ionizers for the bed room" blueprints and Ultrasonics used to fuse plastic parts together in factories. Why not a piezo ultrasonic element ? Will the juice gum it up? Will the high voltage Joule Ringer circuit for the ionizer be a bulky problem. Notice the vaporisers in WalMart that have an ion generator poof out twice the fog then the ones without.
Seems there is a boat load of room for improvement here for our newly profound vaping thing. All one needs to do is climb out of their box of comfort and think. And that I give "root" credit for. I use a 3 watt laser for soldering micro circuits in my mad lab, but also notice when buying these from afar that anything over 1/2 watt [open atmosphere] is illegal to posses in some states. So that would be a manufacturing hurdle to get licensed for. Though the PV like cd rom and DVD players would not be considered "OPEN" in this case.

Another note I can't mention the people or the websites [underground TOR onion sites] forum rules make this clear.
I will call them shady gangsters that use these devices for the wrong reasons, and one thing they switch out at the first site
of a Rebuildable Cartomizer tank is the resistance wire for a Ceramic heating disk micro sized to fit in flawlessly. These disks are available from Digitec Electronics catalog and many other China based electronic parts sales. They seem to be bullet proof, have a high surface area of heat and being coated with ceramic they do not corrode. But to me it looks like controlling the heat will be challenging. And only big batteries can handle the minimum 10 watt draw at 3.7 volts they draw 4 amps OUCH there goes by Lava tube POOF!!!

I do plan on experimenting with this. I have more higher priorities for a dooms day prep such as Rebuildable Atomizer with a tank.
And another MOD that doesn't need a computer chip to work with a repairable switch. The corroding resistance wire has GOT TO GO!!!! If there is an experimenters room I will find it, if not maybe we should start an "Engineering Pilgrimage" room?
We need a longer lasting heating element for sure.

If a coil lasts for a few months then why bother?! If we look closer where the money goes then the trend goes into design, quality, and simplicity. For some of the attys and mods people are ready to pay real money and even wait for years in lines. So, why not to go were money goes instead of to spend money and effort on some research? Even with a revolutionary product there should be a market for it.
Anyway, good luck with your idea.

boy this thread took a left turn quick ....and never really came back! Good times!

Is that the friggin death star's laser system on post 78 / Page 8?

I wonder how accurate they have that thing by now...... if we could call in a "hit" while driving 80 on the freeway into <30mm wide target we wouldn't need the battery. Co-ops to launch some additional ones into orbit to keep up with demand.
