Hello everyone! I have been lurking for a long time but this is my first official post!

I'm 22 years old and I have been a pack a day smoker for 6 years now, but I had my first cigarette at 13. I can really start to feel the damage that I've done to myself. I get short of breath very easily, my blood pressure is getting to the upper range of normal, borderline high, and when I smoke heavily my tongue seems to turn white (YUCK!)

I recent bought an ego spinner and a single coil kanger tank to get me started. I know there are bigger and better things out there but it's working well for me. I am currently vaping Candy Cane flavor at 18 mgs. I feel freer that I have felt in years! I have been having one or two a day but I'm getting to the point where I don't enjoy cigarettes at all. Last night braved the cold weather and I smoked one before bed. I couldn't sleep because all I could smell was stale cigarette smoke. It's 4pm and I'm excited to say I haven't had one all day!

Overall I just feel great and I'm excited to become a member of ECF!

That's how it starts. ecigs are not really magical, you have to want to quit and be tired of feeling crappy and smelling horrible.

The fact you're starting at 22 is fantastic. You will heal much faster than many others like me who are twice your age. And like you've said whatever works for you is the right way. Good stuff.

Hello, WELCOME TO ECF and congrats on your success. I am fairly new to the scene so I definitely know how excited you are. Vaping does make quitting the analogs quite easy. I smoked 2+ PAD for over 20 years and am proud that I have gone 2 weeks without one, no grumpy mood, no feeling like I want one, no nothing, it is great!:toast:

+1 to what K31Scout said - you'll definitely want a backup in case your device runs out of battery, takes a crap, etc. Having a backup kept me off the stinkies more than once when I wasn't paying attention to battery level. There's a high probability I would have had a cigarette if there wasn't a backup waiting for me.

Congratulations for making the decision to change, and welcome to ECF! You'll notice the desire for cigarettes will get less and less as time goes on.

Welcome aboard
I smoked PAD for 43 years. Then I decided to try a vape. I have not smoked since.
If you have the right attitude about quiting smoking, vaping will make it a painless transition. But as previously stated Thou Shalt Have Backups. It is far too easy to smoke when your vape decides to not work for you. A spare battery and charger, tank and juice are very important to get you through the first few days
Good Luck
