Once again welcome back for my review of the brother of the GALEX Pod device called the GALEX NANO, The two are almost identical in features but the Nano has a few that it's brother the GALEX doesn't have. Both share the LED light features if you choose to engage them as well as Pod and coils and both are auto-draw only with a 800mAh internal battery housed in both but that's it. The NANO has 3 power levels you can adjust while it's brother's wattage/voltage is adjusted automatically based on the coil being used. There are 2 airflow holes on the GALEX but only 1 on the NANO, more about that in my review. This device is called NANO for a reason, lets check it out.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS


My first words after opening the box was that's really tiny and also attractive. The NANO''s packaging is just like the GALEX it's brother, all pieces are in there preformed spot with the charge cord in a Black rectangular box beside the NANO. I was sent this sample version that all reviewers get and it's not the final retail version.

I say this because the NANO and it's brother have a USB - C charge port but inside both the GALEX that I reviewed yesterday and NANO box was a micro USB charge cord, the final retail version will have the correct TYPE-C charge cord so don't be alarmed, no user manual was included either but from the information above and it's menu that consists of a couple button presses of the power button I didn't need one. I really like the look of the chip being visible through a clear window.

First let's start with the POD, it has a 2ml capacity, and is top fill by way of a snap off mouthpiece. I really like this filling method much better than the rubber plug so many pod devices use. You can snap the mouthpiece off by tilting it forward or backward, once off you will see a Red colored membrane that is the fill port.

I like this style also because the membrane seals itself closed when the juice bottle tip is removed, the tiny hole on the other side is there to let air escape when filling. The Pod itself is clear and has a minimum fill line that is level with the device when inserted.

The coils have flat spots that need to be lined up before fully seating the coil in place, if not lined up correctly you will have a mess on your hands. The NANO ships with the 1.0Ω coil pre-installed.

Now that the Pod is finished lets continue down to the device itself. Inside the device are 2 magnets that connect with the 2 on the Pod for a very connection. The Nano uses 2 auto-draw air feed tubes and they work very well giving a more looser type of MTL draw than tight, not much effort is needed to activate the auto-draw. The 2 airholes on each end of the Pod sit right on top of the auto-draw air feed tubes for a pretty smooth inhale.

Charging the NANO is done from the bottom of it, I would have liked it to be either on the side or in front or back so the device can sit upright instead of laying down when charging. The branding is kept to a minimum with the GALEX NANO name up top and FREEMAX above the chip viewing window. The backside is branding free. Now you get to see just how small the NANO is. Freemax even included a hole for a lanyard for those of you that use one.

Unlike the NANO's brother the Galex that has no buttons the NANO has only 1 single button that multitasks, it is not a fire button but is used to adjust to the 3 power levels, turn the device on/off which is the standard 5 quick presses and change the 6 LED lights that are inside a frosted bezel around the chip and check the status of the batteries current charge. Lights can be unicolor, multicolor or off. The other side of the device is plain Black with no design or markings.

The lights are very bright even in daylight but I choose to keep them off to conserve on battery life, these are very tiny lights and I have no idea how much power it takes to run them but I still run the NANO without them. I snapped a few pictures of some of the colors down below.

FINAL IMPRESSIONS


I was never really crazy about these very tiny types of devices but the NANO swayed me over, it's border line shirt pocketable but that's how I've carried it mostly during the testing of it. The appearance even without the lights activated works for me.

Having the ability the change power levels on a tiny device like this is a big plus and having 3 of them should satisfy most vaper looking for tiny MTL Pod System.

I always want adjustable airflow on a device because seldom do I find my sweet spot on fixed airflow but sometimes a device comes through and the NANO can be included as one that comes through as well.

As far as the flavor of the 0.1Ω coil goes it's good but for my taste the 0.8Ω coil is more to my taste at full power ( GREEN ).

So all in all I liked the GALEX NANO Kit very much and think you will as well if your MTL draw is between tight and loose.
