    Somewhere between here and there
Hello and welcome to my latest review in a long line of reviews. The samples have been coming in like crazy lately so expect to see a lot more of me in the near future. Now back to the topic at hand. Today I will be covering the Freemax Marvos T 80 watt kit which was sent to me by Freemax for the purpose of providing and fair and honest review. I will attempt to do my best to cover the features and give my opinions on the performance of the Marvos. When I hear the name Freemax I associate it with really very good flavor. Let’s go down and see if that holds true.

    INITIAL THOUGHTS:

Freemax was generous enough as you can see in the earlier picture that I not only received the Marvos T kit with the PCTG tank and two coils but also received an extra package of coils and a glass pod. The device I received is obviously the red one as you can see in my picture. At this time I don’t know if the glass pod will be included or not but since there isn’t a spot for it in the package, I don’t feel like it will. The red on this unit is very nice in my opinion. However, I do feel like the body is a little too smooth or slick and could slide out of the hand if you didn’t have a good grip on it.

On what I am going to call the front side is the Marvos T logo near the bottom with the fire button closer to the top with a white ring on its face that lights up when the button is pressed. The light on the button indicates the battery level in three different colors. They are Green, Blue, and Red just like what is used on many other devices where there are three levels and no display screen. When it turns Red then it’s time to charge the battery. On the opposite side of the button is the USB-C charging port which allows the user to charge the 3000mah battery at 2A and will charge completely in approximately 90 minutes.

On the top of the mod where the pod sits there is the metal ring that is used in a lot of these pod mod type devices to give the magnets on the pod a place to stick to. There are also the two gold plated electrical contacts that provide power to the contacts on the bottom of the pod. One thing that I immediately noticed about the Marvos that was different from other pod mods I have used and very much liked was that the airflow control is built into the body of the mod instead of being built into the pod so you don’t have to worry about the pod turning accidentally and altering your airflow. Good design Freemax. On the bottom of the mod is the Marvos T printed again and six vent holes for safety should the battery vent.

The Marvos automatically adjusts the output of the device depending on the power level selected and the resistance of the coil. To change the power level, simply press the fire button three times and the light on the fire button will change color for an instant. Repeat to cycle through the three levels. The wattages available or as follows for each of the two coils.

    - .15 coil: Red(60w) Blue(70w) Green(80w)

    - .25 coil: Red(40w) Blue(50w) Green(55w)

I personally don’t really care for a really warm vapor so even though I tried the different power levels, I ended up running both coils on the Red setting and actually kind of wished that I could turn the power down a little more.

The pod that is included inside the kit is PCTG. It is slightly tinted but you can very easily see the liquid level inside. Thank you Freemax! Too many pods are so dark that you need a flashlight to see the liquid level. I was pleasantly surprised that the drip tip is in fact replaceable. I didn’t replace it as I found it comfortable to use but think that will be a plus for some users that have their favorite ones. On the bottom of the pod is the fill port plug with a fill hole that I was able to use without any real mess. I always wipe after filling a pod no matter what. It has just become a reflex. Also on the bottom are four magnets that hold the pod securely in place. I could pick the device up by the pod without the pod coming loose. The glass pod is the same design as the PCTG one except obviously it is made of glass. I really didn’t notice a difference in flavor between them while using one coil in each besides the obvious difference in wattage. The .15 and .25 coils that come with the kit simply push into the pod and seal like just about every other pod mod right now. I have to admit that after testing many of them, I am a little tired of the bottom fill pods. I can’t be the only one right? Is it really that hard to design a top fill pod? I don’t think so since it has been done and would love to see a top fill for this one. The coils that come with the Marvos kit use FM Coiltech 4.0 which consists of tea fiber cotton and ss904. I used similar coils when I reviewed other Freemax devices and these provide just as good of flavor as I remember from them. Freemax coils are true flavor bangers and provide not only great flavor but bring out notes in some of my diy liquids that I don’t pick up on using other coils whether they be stock or diy coils. I ended up preferring the .25 coil simply because it was a cooler vapor on the lowest setting which I tend to prefer. Both coils delivered fantastic flavor in my opinion.

    FINAL THOUGHTS:

I did enjoy testing the Marvos T for this review. Using a tube mod brings back a little nostalgia of days gone past. The mod itself has a decent weight to it but felt like the finish on it was just a little slippery for a tube mod although I thought the paint was very well done on it.

I like that the airflow control is built into the top of the mod instead of depending on turning the pod to adjust the airflow like I’ve seen on a few other devices. That is definitely a positive for me. I also like that there is the option of a glass tank. I haven’t dropped it yet but the glass seems like it would be fairly durable. You never know though if it hits the pavement just right.

In my opinion, there’s nothing to not like about the flavor produced by the FM Coiltech 4.0 coils included. I do have one personal issue with the device though. I usually prefer a cooler vape and even with the airflow completely open running the .25 coil with the mod set on the lowest setting, it still seemed a little too warm for me. That’s where I personally prefer a mod like the Maxus 100 that I reviewed some time ago where I could dial in the wattage to match the airflow instead of just being given three ranges. The blue and green settings on both coils were just too warm for me with a fully charged battery.

While using the Marvos T I felt like I got very good battery life with the included coils. It did remind me somewhat of the Twister that I reviewed a long time ago as far as form factor but even with the Twister I had more control over the output. I experienced basically no condensation and no leaking whatsoever while testing the Marvos. On some literature that I received with the samples it stated that the Marvos was the first pod mod with a glass pod. That is not true. I reviewed the Sensis a while back and it had a glass pod that came with the kit. Perhaps the literature was written before the Sensis was released. I really don’t know.

So would I recommend the Marvos T to you? It really depends on what your personal style of vaping is. If you like pretty warm vapor at higher outputs then it might be a good fit for you. It’s not a small device but being a tube mod you could easily carry it in a side pocket of a pair of carpenter jeans or in a purse. Just press the fire button five times to turn it off first.

I’d like to thank Jerry and Freemax for sending the Marvos T kit for this review and thanks to the dedicated readers that made it to the end of my long winded review. Below is a link to the website if you’d like to check it out yourself.

As usual an awesome review and quite enjoyable to read.

Yeah i have to agree with you on the bottom refilling issue.
One of the reasons i can't really get into pod type systems is the weird placement of the refilling ports and most pod systems have those rubbery tabs to cover the holes, those i just don't like.

    cheers

The last review I did had top fill pods and I saw there’s another one coming that looks like it’s top fill.
