After a few more emails, I can tell you, they have increased the airflow on the Starre Pro, increased it more,
The temp coils also use dual Nickel NI200 sensing wire and the same medical grade ... organic cotton at 0.15ohm.
Freemax will have two options of nickel coils.
.15 ohm coil = Dual Vertical Coil
.25ohm coil = Single Vertical Coil
I'll hopefully be ordering my Snow Wolf 200W and Starre Pro by the end of next week.
i haven't gotten a dry hit since... my first pull, main reason i got it![]()
Personally I'd spend the extra and get the pro, never thought to rebuild them as they last so long and are great in flavour, if the rest of the coils last as long as the first on then a 5 pack of coils will last, 17 weeksMy finger is twitching over the fire button on (what I assume) a V1 for £20....
Has anyone rebuilt the coils successfully?
The Pro has more airflow right? I thought it had a bucket-ton of airflow already?

I wouldn't worry to much yet mateWe always seem to get the sharp end of the pokey-stick in the UK
I just break the coil down carefully torch the original coil and rewick with kohgendo. My finger is twitching over the fire button on (what I assume) a V1 for £20....

The real problem is they use resistance non resistance wire so it will never vape right using straight kanthal. That's why I just rewick. Works great.I've taken one apart. They are an engineering marvel that would be EXTREMELY difficult to replicate.
They are spaced coils and not microcoils, and the dual coils are wrapped together rather than one on top of the other.
This is about the best picture I can find of one. Notice how the two separate wires are coiled together, and the spacing between each wrap...

That would be a nightmare to replicate. I can't imagine being able to do that by hand and avoiding shorts.
