I am getting ready to store a good amount of 100mg 50/50 nicotine base in 4oz amber glass bottles with poly cone caps in my freezer.

I have one major concern, should I be worried about this expansion when freezing this concentration? I don't want to have 24 cracked 4oz bottles of 100mg nicotine in my freezer. There is 120ml in each 4oz bottle.

The property of expanding when frozen is unique to water. Most substances continue to contract when cooled. Something like a beer or soda pop only explodes in the freezer ‘cause it is mostly water, but the minuscule amount that might be in your nic base shouldn’t be a problem.

Glad you found your answer. I have never once had a problem with freezing nic in glass, although I do make sure nothing heavy from elsewhere in the freezer, the husband and I had to negotiate the compartments. But, nic (in PG, VG and both) will remain liquid, just very very thick liquid.

Best of luck,

Anna
