I just recently purchased my provari and sometimes it acts quite funny.
I can be pleasantly vaping along and then I will sometimes get a long string of E8, E1, and E2 errors (even tho I double and triple check the resistance and voltage isn't above 14.5 watts)

Last night at a concert there was a period of time where I kept on getting E1 errors and I ended up thinking the atty was dead... until I tried 30 minutes later and succeeded to vape the rest of the night.

Is this usual? I thought I read somewhere that this may be caused by some liquid in the vitals of the body and to take a small amount of rubbing alcohol and put it in the body of the provari and swirl around and let evaporate overnight...

This is just an observation, nothing sientific -

When I chain vape some cartos become very hot and sometimes Provari will throw an error. When I check the resistance right then it will be like 1.1 Ohms on Ressurector which had 1.7 Ohms while cold.
The solution is to wait until carto chill down, lower the voltage, change the carto or vape on a backup hardware.

P.S.: and it's happend to me not just with ressurectors but also with Boge 2.0 and 3.0

also, be aware that as the atty ages and degrades your provari might respond differently. e.g., a 2.5 Ohm atty after 4-5 drags at 5.2 volts might show an E2 error on the 6th hit. were you to check the resistance again you might find that curiously the Ohms are now something like 2.1, possibly necessitating a decrease in voltage...but who knows?

14.5 watts? Provari provides voltage adjustments. Are you doing some ohms law math and calculating that you are getting 14.5 watts? That's extraordinarily high power!

E1 means the Provari can't give you the voltage it is set for. This is usually do to a very low resistance atty/carto or an unreasonably high voltage setting. If things start working again after a period of time, it sounds like your atty is bad. What resistance is it supposed to be?

Have you been dripping and getting juice all over the top of the Provari? If not, you should need to put alcohol or anything else in it.

I was doing the math and calculating to make sure I wasn't going over 14.5 watts.
Stayinga round 11-13.k

The atty is 3.0 ohm but after frequent measures it's dropped steadily to 2.1-2.3.
Does this mean there's an issue with the atty?

I've been dripping and yes there's some in the post on the outside but I frequently clean that and the post that connect to the atty with some paper towel/q-tips.

@hoosier,
Will try that when I get home! thank you :)

Even at 11-13 watts I'm surprised your not getting badly burnt flavor. 2 ohm is not bad for your atty although it's a good bit lower than its rating. If you set your Provari to something like 3.7 v, will it still give you the E1? E1 is supposed to mean that there is like 0 resistance. Having a lot of juice on the batter connector could do that. Clean everything out real good and try again. But I definitely would not pour alcohol into the Provari.

Not badly burnt flavor. Just lots of throat hit.
Some flavors change a bit but..

Yeah I was worried that it was quite a bit lower than supposed to be. Turned out that atty just up and died on me yesterday... :(

And yes it would still give me errors at low voltages.
I've cleaned the 510 connection post.

and I didn't pour alcohol in there but I used a q-tip dipped in alcohol and then wiped where the + side of the battery connects and then used canned air to dry it.

Worked a little better, but now my clearo's are getting lots and lots of errors.

What is that + battery post supposed to look like? It seems like mine has a lot of gunk on there or something. It's definitely not completely chrome in color, there's some black stuff that wouldn't come off with the q-tip.

I just stick my pinky finger up there and twist

My girlfriend likes that too...LOL

But, anyway, I've tried that but it still seems like there is some black on the battery contact.
I'm not sure if that is normal but it seems as if the finish is sorta wearing off almost.
