This is my first post but I've learned TONS from reading questions & answers here. I haven't seen any questions about what I'm experiencing though. Starting vaping about 2 months ago, I smoked (20 per day) for the better part of 30 years. I've quit here & there but have always gone back to smoking, until now. Problem is it seems like every week or so I get vapours tongue for a couple of days. No flavour whatsoever, just hot vape. Seems like vaping a cinnamon donut flav will reset things for me. I recently bought a bottle of Naked Lava Flow, everything was great then after a few mls. of juice all I can taste is Sugar!!! Like I poured a packet of Sugar Twin in my mouth. Lips, teeth, back of throat, just sugar taste. I cannot taste much if any of the fruit flavours in the juice. Now all of my flavours are just pure sugary sugar. So back to the cinnamon. I have an Eleaf Pico. I use the melo 3 mini it came with & recently bought an Aspire Cleito using the .4 coil. vaping between 30 - 45 Watts. The higher the Watt the more sugar I can taste. So I guess I'd love to know if anyone has experienced this and if it will get better in time. I love vaping but its a real drag when every 5-7 days my olfactory system goes haywire. Sorry for the long post. Cheers.

between here and there
Sadly this is very common. Until your taste buds and sense of smell are healed it may continue to happen. Try gargling with some salt water. Usually works for me. Just run hot water from the tap and put some table salt a cup. Water doesn't have to be hot but lukewarm is ok. Just stir to dissolve the salt. This also helps with colds, sore throats, etc.

definitely normal for many, i got vaper's tongue for years. finally figured out though that if i rotate between at least 2-3 flavors a day with one being unflavored nic with coolness or light menthol added to it (in different tanks), i avoid getting it altogether. my advice is to get some unflavored nic or actually since you said your cinnamon donut resets your tastebuds, vape it on and off during the day to help keep vaper's tongue away, or at least from getting it too often.

I was a 40 year very heavy smoker. My problems started at about 2 months as my sense of smell (and taste) returned. BTW, the world doesn't smell like I remember from 1970. Who caused that?

I was at war with my taste buds for probably 6 months. Sometimes couldn't taste, sometimes everything tasted bad. Then the buds would switch what they liked. Pretty frustrating. Ornery little creatures, those buds. I used to smell fresh coffee grounds to reset things (little trick I learned from perfume shops in the caribbean).

Don't worry. In six months or so everything will settle down.

Thanks for all the replies. Nice to know that it should settle down in time. I'm determined to stay off of cigs. I read somewhere that drinking a glass of water with some Apple Cider Vinegar helps. Tried it and it seems to help a bit. The vinegar actually tasted sort of sweet, so my taste buds are seriously confused. Glad to know I'm not the only one who experiences this. :)
