Most common:

Lack of vapor can be from too much or too little liquid.

Too little and you would have probably had burnt taste as your clue...so you need more liquid at the coil.

Too much and you might hear gurgling... The coil is quite small and while it can vaporize a small amount of liquid, it simply cannot vaporize a whole pool of it... Try gently blowing through your atomizer into a sink or paper towel to get the excess liquid out.

Yes and no... aside from the obvious, is the tank on fully... the leaking is due to the position and mass of the wick blocking the tube in conjunction with the thickness of the particular liquid you are using. The less air allowed in to displace the liquid that is leaking out the better and the silicone caps do make a tighter seal so less air will be allowed in. So the silicone cap can help, but only to a point.

A common thing that happens is the center contact gets pushed up from repeated screw ins and will stop making contact with the battery. You can ease the center contact out by inserting a paperclip about an eighth inch into the center hole of the atomizer (battery side) and then ease the contact out. (Do not insert the paperclip too far as the coil sits above that hole)

Certainly it could be dead and the way to know for sure is to test the resistance.
