Well I have become the unofficial vape master of my group of friends. The problem is, I haven't dealt with VV/VW in MONTHS, which should be considered years when talking about variable technology. I'm a pure mechanical/rebuildable atty user, so I need the knowledge of this great community.

My friend's MVP broke, so he needs a new mod. He likes the box concept, didn't really like the tube design (IE the VAMO). He will most likely be using a clearo-like device such as the ProTank or something, he's not into rebuildables. He needs something sturdy and reliable, for not a huge price.

I was going to recommend just getting another MVP, but I have no idea what is new out there. Any recommendations?

I second twg !!!!!!!! Yep agreed with everything regarding mvp - but for long term durability nothing beats a reo in my opinion. It is pricey though. Even off the classiifieds sections cause will also need batteries n charger as well as a rebuildable atty. but the mech grande is amazing for its simplicity. Have lasted easy 50 big drops. No electronics. Can vape any strength you want if spend some time studying rebuildables - never have to buy another atty, tank. Carto again---- will last for years n years. Mvp is a great deal though if cant afford the initial outlay for the reo. Tough to beat the features of mvp ! Built in ohm reader -20 dollar value - built in battery back for emergencies - 20 dollar value. Internal 2600 mah battery so no extra cost for batteries - and its vv n vw - the electronics just scare me - so much can go wrong. Dont get me wrong i have one reo grande and one reo vv w electronics but even though its pretty nice vaping at a desired voltage i have a feeling it may not last so long. Both choices i dont think you can go wrong with

The mvp is a great little device and I use it when I go out so I don't need to carry spare batteries. When I'm home I love my vtr which your friend may also like if they are into box mods. I am a fan of the protank 3(even better with an aerotank bottom) and an even bigger fan of the new aerotank which both works and looks fantastic on the vtr. I've grown very fond of the box style mods too so my svd has been designated to back up. My vote goes vtr but if that's to expensive then mvp all the way.

Whats the difference between vtr and mvp. Asking cause i might buy one. Isnt vtr more restrictive on tanks you can use cause of size limitations. It has a little more power and it doesn't have an internal battery. Is there any other differences ?

The vtr is much heavier and usually recommended for those that need a rugged pv that can take some abuse. You are restricted to the size of tanks that can be mounted in the recessed slot and the ring will provide some protection to the tank. It also comes with an extender to use so any tanks that don't fit can still be used and just sits on top like it would on the mvp.

I love my vtr and it's my favorite current pv. Just try and make sure you order one that is from the newer batch with the not rotatable 510 connector because there were some issues with the first version that spun. It only takes 18650 batteries but the thing is a tank and I use mine with aerotanks and it vapes like a beast. It also had a wider range of adjustment over the mvp going up to 6 volts and up to 15 watts. It does have pulse width modulation and some do prefer the vape of the mvp that doesn't seam to have it.

Hope any of that helps you.
