My kr8's... Stopped smoking w/them and still use them everyday. They are still my "go out" vapes w/fluxomizers from got vapes on them.

I also have an ego, and I don't see what the big "gotta have an ego" is all about. It's getting ready for either classy's or pif. Haven't decided yet.

My first mod is a vmod bottom feeder. Awesome little 3.7 bottom feeder.

My one and only (and Last) other mod is an original buzz off of classy's. It is vv, so I can adjust the voltage to where I want depending on juice and what I'm needing at the moment. I have found my other sweet spot w/the buzz.

So the bottom line is whatever makes you happy w/the vaping experience is the way to go. The only right way to go is what is right for you... That is what is nice about vaping: there is no wrong way, not really. JMO.

Good luck to all of the newbs :)

My daily vapes: My kr's ~ vmod ~ original buzz !!! Life is good !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am new and decided to get an Ego kit to see if I liked vaping. While I do like it I'm not sure if I am getting the best vapes with it. There are so many things to know and so many choices in cartos etc. that I was getting very frustrated.

There is a wealth of information here, but, I just don't have the time to read it all. I just want to vape and not have to worry about Ohms, volts and watts and what the battery can and cannot handle.

I decided to get a Darwin. I think that, for me, this is a no muss no fuss unit. I don't have to worry about what I can use on it because everything will work. I will get the hang of the Ohms, volts and watts by just looking at the display and be able to see what my best vape "looks" like. With the technical stuff taken care of, I can concentrate on what juices I prefer.

Just my opinion.

And it is a very intelligent opinion, at that! Congratulations on getting a Darwin. Being the only true "power regulated" model on the market, you made a great choice. The fact that the Darwin regulates heat output or watts (not voltage) and adjusts the output automatically to the change in the resistence of the atty/carto as you vape, makes it the most consistent model on the market and very easy to use. And the fact that it regulates watts along with boost circuit technology makes it an outstanding choice. It's as easy as just turn the wheel to what seems right to the user and just vape.

I agree prosperitygal. It's real easy to get all tied up in the different ways to vape and forget to just enjoy it! I haven't tried the Darwin and definitely can't afford it right now, but I've heard so many great things about it. Hopefully one day I will have the spare cash to get a VV device. Most likely I will wait for the Eclipse to be released. Sounds AMAZING! Here's a link: Eclipse e-cig mod reviews

I hope I am not stating "old information" but I believe the Eclipse has disappeared. There was months of hype with many delays, then a release and then nothing for months. I would research that model very carefully. Concept wise it seemed great.

New vaper here, started with green smoke, had to upgrade because i wanted to use different juices and such so i got an ego t, didnt like the T, put a regular drip atty on it and im feelin fine, got a carto on the way, BUT i do find myself missing the cig feel, For every now and then i want to have an option that is like a cig, feels like a cig and doesnt use a button. But agreed battery life is an issue, what would you guys recommend in the way of an automatic cig sized battery, just as an alternative to the ego....i guess carrying a few batteries is an option, but wanted to konw what else is out there, is there a cig sized battery that runs better than other?

I'm no expert but you may want to look into getting a 510 MEGA battery. I personally don't have one yet but it's suppose to last twice as long as a standard 510. Not sure if they come in automatic versions or not, but it's worth looking into. Also, it's not a one that you will hear many people recommend but I've got an NJOY N-pro that I got from a gas station. It is automatic and uses cartomizers. Believe it or not, it has pretty good battery life, looks just like an analog, and you can refill the cartomizers if you don't want to keep buying refills. I would recommend the 510 over the NJOY any day but if you are looking for a easy to use mini-PV that is automatic and produces a pretty decent vape, you might want to get one and try it out. I still pick mine up every now and then and toot away on it. Works great!

I really don't know much at all about the Eclipse except what ecig mod reviews said. Thanks for the update though!

I started with a 510 and pretty quickly moved up to Riva batteries, CE-2's, and now variable voltage, and I find that bigger batteries and mods do make for a better experience. But I absolutely agree with the OP. The really important thing is to get a PV that you're comfortable with and get started. I've been vaping 6 months, and I'm now comfortable with trying new technology and modding my cartos and such, but I still remember the intimidation factor in trying an e-cig for the first time. All the different models and juices and carts and cartos and the lingo can be confusing. What was really the crucial thing was that I stuck a pre-loaded tobacco flavored cart in my brand-new 510 for the first time and took a drag and thought, "Wow. This really does taste and feel very much like a cigarette. I think this might be able to replace cigarettes for me." And it did.

I think we more experienced vapers have stopped looking for something to take the place of cigarettes and have started looking for a better vaping experience. That's great for us. But for real newbies, thinking about trying an e-cig for the first time, what they're looking for is something to give them a cigarette-like experience that works well, is easy to use, doesn't make them feel like they're doing something too weird, and doesn't cost a fortune. For a first starter kit, a 510 or Kr-808-D will likely satisfy those needs. Then, when they start to get frustrated with short battery life, or have been hanging around ECF and joined the quest for the perfect vape, they can move up to bigger and better things. Compared to the cost of cigarettes, a Riva battery or two is cheap, and I bought a Riva starter kit about a month into vaping. But by then I had already become comfortable with vaping, more familiar with how I would use my electric hookah-doodle, and more knowledgeable about the available devices and the vendors who sell them. I still have a few 510's, and still use them, so it isn't a wasted purchase.

So my advice would be to get an affordable starter kit from a reputable vendor and start. There will be plenty of time for tweaking later.

Nicely put and supports the the OP very well. I also happen to agree with you. My experiences have been very similar. Once we've become accustomed to vaping for awhile, it may be easy to forget just how powerful the addiction to cigarettes is. At the time, the last thing I wanted was to spend a ton of money that 1. might not work for me and 2. made me look like I was smoking illicit substances through a pipe wrench. I recall vividly that, in the beginning, I absolutely HAD to have something that looked, felt and tasted like the things that controlled my life for 30 years. There would be no compromise, no rationalization, no common sense, no anything that would change my mind from this. I bought an Njoy Npro 4081 from the Convenience store and used it successfully for a month - Essentially quitting cigarettes completely. That was when my viewpoint started to change. It was also the time I discovered ECF and all the other vaping options available.

I moved rather quickly from that "slim" Njoy Npro to a fat battery, 1000mA 510 Ego style for the longer battery life. Now, I also have slim 510s, Rivas and a homemade box mod. Still use them all as the situation warrants. It was a progressive thing too. If you feel the preference for a slim-type for whatever reason, do it! Just let the folks here at ECF help you through the rough patches.

My fave is Halo G6, it really is a nice feeling slim ecig. I got the longest length batt. I have tried others, I have 2 other types with cartos, but the best one for me is the Halo G6 (KR808d-1). I do have quite a few batteries and I charge at least 2 or three at a time. Maybe get the PCC charger to take along, if one goes dead put it in the PCC charger. I have one I take with me. halocigs.com
This type has worked well for me for a slim easy to take along ecig. bnrk
