Hey everyone!

recently switched from smoking to vaping and i have a question for everyone!

I think i find myself ( probably because its new and im stoked on vaping ) vaping all day long whenever i can.
I would go out and smoke a cig when i was bored or when i had a craving but i think ive just been vaping pretty much all day. ha.

my question is...did anyone else form habits around when and how much you vaped on a day to day basis? I was a PAD smoker but i have no idea how(or if i should) regulate vaping. I guess im only even asking the question because i have no idea how exactly an all day nicotine intake effects the body.

could be a stupid concern.

everyone seems to take to vaping slightly different then smoking. more so for those that didnt smoke in the house or car, as they will likely vape in those areas.

as far as any concerns of over doing it, your body will tell you if that happens. things to look out for are feeling light headed or nausea, as those can be signs of nic over dose. at that point simply put it down for a little bit and drink some water.... which is something you should have on hand and drink plenty of, as vaping will dry you out and it will also help flush out the toxins from smoking faster.

when im not working it seems like the pv almost never leaves my hand

That is what I would type, if I could type faster.

Hi Doc.Risa

I am pretty new to vaping myself (3 months) but I don't have an urge to vape constantly.
I have a few vapes, put it down for 5 to 10 minutes then repeat the process.
I used to smoke about 40 cigs a day, I might vape around 60 times a day but for much shorter periods than smoking.

Regarding the nicotine intake:
Vaping is very different to smoking, to my knowledge the absorbtion of nicotine is primarily through the lining of the mouth (Buccal Mucosa) rather than the Alveoli of the Lungs.

Whilst there is apparently no direct correlation of mg of Nicotine in a cigarette to mg of Nicotine in Eliquid, I have read that on a "puff' by 'puff' basis vaping only yeilds about 10% [1.] of the Nicotine that smoking does.

I suppose the question is, are you vaping a lot because you are not getting enough nicotine or because you are just enjoying the experience.

I hold the vapor in my mouth, rather than inhale, when I feel a bit scratchy and need a quick nicotine fix.

Hope this helps.

I've cut down to 6mg nic from 24mg in 10 months because I enjoy the hand-to-mouth and creating plumes of vapor and I want to taste delicious flavors as much as I want. I've also vaped diy 0mg nic without missing it.

If chain vaping keeps you from having cigarette cravings, then vape away if that's what it takes to keep you away from them. Your body will tell you when you're overdoing the nicotine intake, just lower the amount of nic in your juice.

well theres the habit of smoking in its self, when we lit a cig we smoked the whole thing until done, which in the end was probably more nic then we needed to calm the craving, and the cycle begins we wait till this high dosage wears down and then repeat.
It is believed that we dont absorbe as much nic per inhale of vapor as we did from smoking. so in this context we are getting a smaller dose per puff and now its right there next to us so we take more puffs.
in actuality there is a chance we are ending up in a maintenance cycle with vaping (meaning a small steady input) rather then a dosing cycle like cigs (smoke whole thing get too much, wait till too much is gone and smoke another later).

cant speak for everyone but some people notice even when it seems like they are vaping constantly when comparing the actual inhale time on the vaporizer to how many puffs they took off of cig's during the the same timeframe there isnt much difference in puffs counted
in some cases it may seem like more because its constant rather then 40 puffs stop 40 puffs stop.

as with any chemical intake it would actually be better in the end to keep a small metered dose going then a high dose, high depletion, high dose strategy like we did smoking cigs.
If your concerned or maybe want to slow down, get some high nic content, you can only push ot so far before you get kinda spacey feeling and think whoa i need to put this down for a bit lol.
