EEK! its 2am here! Glad to know I'm not the only floridian up this late. I cant offer you any advice as I dont have any HV mods. However, i did want to say congrats on almost 2 full weeks without a real cig and dont give up yet. Everyone here is helpful and you will figure out the issue.

No probAnd I think it will be- thanks a ton !!!
Oh, I thought you were dripping only That is what a lot of people do with HV. If you don't drip you for sure better have an efficient cart mod.
Do you have a cart mod?
ok I think someone answered it ,,, but it sounds like if you are blowing atties on the "variable" one at 6v ... I think its due to the 7.4ish that you are getting... I thought it only happened to the 801s on the normal tip... but may do that on the 901s normal tip as well (possible, but not going to try hehe) what might be needed and helped with the 801 using an adaptor not the regular 801 tip... this way there will be less continuity and will solve the extremely high voltage....
also the HV atties do help with 7.4ish voltage(in theory since I dont use HV atties)
anyway I am sorry if I didn't read through everyones posts... but this is my take on it
Get some High MG juice with tons of throat hit...do a search on here under juice reviews and try a recommended one for those things and you should be all set![]()
The funny thing about the 901 attys is that they're finicky lil buggers. You can pop several in a row and then find one that will last a long time. Luck of the draw and lack of quality control I guess.
You haven't mentioned if you've tried the 510 atty on your HV mod. The 510 atty rocks at 5/6v and will give you a consistent throat kick that will keep you satisfied. It will also enable you to lower your nic level. I'm currently at 11 mg.
Several of us have not had much luck using carts on these HV mods, so we drip. 5 drops in the atty and you're good to go for 3-5 puffs.
BTW: you should be able to take longer draws on your HV mod without popping your atty. I take 4-5 sec draws and don't pop attys. In fact I've got a 510 atty I've been using for a couple months now and it's still going strong. I keep expecting it to die any day now, but it keeps chugging away.
I bought 50 510 attys several months ago and have 44 left. That tells you how durable they are. They definitely kick ... in the throat hit department, but at the loss of some flavor. eh... it's a trade off I reckon.
But I love filling my mouth with that warm sweet vapor then inhaling it all at once to the back of my throat and into my lungs - now that's vaping heaven. And that my friend will keep you off the analogs.
Good luck.
I've thought the "new battery syndrome" has had something to do with it. After the newness of the bat wears off, everything's fine. I had used my new bats for 2 cycles before I stopped losing attys. I'm thinking maybe charge them up and let them sit for a few days. I had this problem with those new LiFePO whatever bats , I dont' know how the Li-on bats would do.
It's too bad that when alot of people buy an HV, they buy new bats as well. I think it would be better if people had older broken in bats to put in them. Sheesh.
