Oh, I thought you were dripping only That is what a lot of people do with HV. If you don't drip you for sure better have an efficient cart mod.

Do you have a cart mod?

My plan tomorrow when the new ones get here is to try dripping only - I can sit here in my chair and see if dripping only knocks me out of the chair ! :D

EEK! its 2am here! Glad to know I'm not the only floridian up this late. I cant offer you any advice as I dont have any HV mods. However, i did want to say congrats on almost 2 full weeks without a real cig and dont give up yet. Everyone here is helpful and you will figure out the issue.

Thanks Cielo - We're big time night owls in my house - my wife's more so than me - we're self employed - and when the kido's were little, that's the only time we could get any work done and just got used to it. BUT - I take a great nap right in the middle of the day - I don't mean one of those silly power naps - I take my shoes off and snore !

Meant to say - yes, I've tried most of all the cart mods, but still find the poly fill works better for me - and I do keep that topped off along with the atty very often !

ok I think someone answered it ,,, but it sounds like if you are blowing atties on the "variable" one at 6v ... I think its due to the 7.4ish that you are getting... I thought it only happened to the 801s on the normal tip... but may do that on the 901s normal tip as well (possible, but not going to try hehe) what might be needed and helped with the 801 using an adaptor not the regular 801 tip... this way there will be less continuity and will solve the extremely high voltage....

also the HV atties do help with 7.4ish voltage(in theory since I dont use HV atties)

anyway I am sorry if I didn't read through everyones posts... but this is my take on it

Like I said - here I am again with somewhat better news. I did what everyone suggested and dripped the H _ _ out of the attys and only burnt out one tonight. But then now that I think about it - I used to hot box analogs trying to get that final great hit - geesshh - why did I have to mention those  - I'll get the hang of it. I have to admit that things do seem to be easing up a little with the cravings - I talked to my daughter tonight and she told me my voice didn't sound as raspy as it usually does - must be a good sign of what's to come  at any rate - thanks everyone !

Get some High MG juice with tons of throat hit...do a search on here under juice reviews and try a recommended one for those things and you should be all set ;)

Yep, got plenty of that - won't go into what strength, but trust me, it's up there - over 36mg anyway.

I'm not out of the woods yet, as I'm still burning up attys - well, I burned up one a while ago, and bailed on it for the night. The HV's just take some getting used to. The SD's I have are very dependable - I can hit it almost non stop and it just goes and goes and goes. What I have to settle in on is one HV, atty types, or cartos or whatever and get used their kinks and how they work and be done with it. I really spend way to much time just trying to settle in one type and get used to it.

Thanks for your help ! I really appreciate it !

The funny thing about the 901 attys is that they're finicky lil buggers. You can pop several in a row and then find one that will last a long time. Luck of the draw and lack of quality control I guess.

You haven't mentioned if you've tried the 510 atty on your HV mod. The 510 atty rocks at 5/6v and will give you a consistent throat kick that will keep you satisfied. It will also enable you to lower your nic level. I'm currently at 11 mg.

Several of us have not had much luck using carts on these HV mods, so we drip. 5 drops in the atty and you're good to go for 3-5 puffs.

BTW: you should be able to take longer draws on your HV mod without popping your atty. I take 4-5 sec draws and don't pop attys. In fact I've got a 510 atty I've been using for a couple months now and it's still going strong. I keep expecting it to die any day now, but it keeps chugging away.

I bought 50 510 attys several months ago and have 44 left. That tells you how durable they are. They definitely kick ... in the throat hit department, but at the loss of some flavor. eh... it's a trade off I reckon.

But I love filling my mouth with that warm sweet vapor then inhaling it all at once to the back of my throat and into my lungs - now that's vaping heaven. And that my friend will keep you off the analogs.

Good luck.

Nope - haven't tried the 510's and that's one that I've wanted to try - I'll have to get an adapter to be able to do that. I have heard they are good - I can handle the trade off of flavor for a better throat hit. I'm really not much into the flavored stuff anyway.

Well, let's see - 50 attys going at the rate I'm at - that would last me maybe a week - geeeeshhhh -- That's really what I need to do as well, but I'll try the 510's and maybe do the same thing - thanks for the suggestions !

I've thought the "new battery syndrome" has had something to do with it. After the newness of the bat wears off, everything's fine. I had used my new bats for 2 cycles before I stopped losing attys. I'm thinking maybe charge them up and let them sit for a few days. I had this problem with those new LiFePO whatever bats , I dont' know how the Li-on bats would do.

I more or less feel the same way - those new batteries must really spike the power up - I feel like it's getting better - I only lost two last night, so I'm still ahead of the game if I had bought two packs of Marlboro Reds  + no doubt a lot of ( most of it ) is user error - the HV's take a bit of getting use to - sort of like the first reg e-cigs I used - I felt like my head was gonna cave in just trying to get a decent hit - I don't have that problem now, so I assume it'll get better - I'll keep posting back once I get to the point where I'm not going in the hole with these darn things. Don't you wish someone could invent or come up with an atty that never went bad :D

It's too bad that when alot of people buy an HV, they buy new bats as well. I think it would be better if people had older broken in bats to put in them. Sheesh.

I think the biggest reason for that is because darn near every setup demands a different type battery / charger, etc... and overall - us addicts are very impatient people !

Well, the batteries have evidently settled down -I've had the same atty in there going strong for over 2 days now !

I'm kinda nutty that way anyway. I've always liked gadgets, so this new hobby ( addiction ) is right up my alley. I have pretty much decided on one thing - right now at least, I'm becoming less fond of all the flavored juices. I keep trying new ones and making up my own trying to find that perfect one, and I've decided what I'm really looking for is the one that taste as much like those good ole analogs - the quest continues !
