Week 1 - Bought 2 1100mah batteries.
Week 2 - The charger fried, and fried a battery. Replaced both. Bought two chargers this time.
Week 8 - Battery just flashes, wont charge. Charger acting funny.. discard it. Battery is dead, won't charge at all, but the other still works. I Order Joytech 900mah model, and a joytech charger (hoping brand name is better)
Week 9 - Joytech battery stops working- blinks 40 times when I try to use it. Charger stays green when I screw battery in, but red light comes on as well, both are lit and solid. I can't find a damn thing anywhere online that explains what that means. It appears the battery is dead. Website(s) all say no warranty on batteries.. sigh.
Today - down to 1 battery, not interested in wasting another $25 for a battery that will likely only last a week or two.

Suggestions? Anyone know what red+greed solid light means? 40 blinks?

Argh.

not sure if it's helpful but make sure you don't have a leaky juice delivery system....sounds to me like something else is frying the batteries
maybe power surges when charging?

either that or you are just cursed when it comes to ego type batteries :p

*keeping my fingers crossed I've had my spinner for a month without issue aside from one doa vivi nova*

Are they Real Ego twist or the chinese rip offs :p?

had mine for like 2 months worked perfect the entire time but now i dont use it anymore since i got my vamo :D

ow and is the charger a real one to ?

The first ones were knockoffs, the 2nd ones were real twists and real chargers. I never had a problem with juice dumps on the contacts, especially since moving to evods (no gurgling!). Ironically, the only surviving battery had been the one that died week two- somehow it just started working again. The others are not so lucky. Several attempts to let them drain and recharge.. nada.

Since the brand name (Joytech, has the MVS stamp on bottom, ego-c twist logo on side) died so quickly, my faith is greatly diminished.. What else can I use that offers variable voltage? (and won't crap out so fast?? or at least has a guarantee)...

I have no reason to believe there's a power surge issue- I have a lot of far more sensitive music gear plugged in at home- it's all fine, and everything at work is power-conditioned.

You can maybe get a vamo from fasttech for like 40-50$ with everything chargers batterys only thing that you would need is a delivery system but you got one allready and the vamo has vv and vw

The vamo may be ok for a cheap battery. I have no experience with them and would want to hear from people who have used for a couple of years. If you want quality vv get a provari. In the long run it will cost less than anything else. Over the years I have spent more on chinese batteries of varying types even thought I only use them 20% of the time. Out four twists only my current two have lasted more than a couple of months. I bought my provari when they first came out and I am still using it 80% of the time

The 40(?)( usually maybe 10?) blinks means you've run the battery all the way down. that's OK

The Joye chargers blink green every 5 seconds- that's ok.

Takes a few hours to fully charge a big battery.

Things to check for: Did you overtighten the clearos and push the battery post down ( won't charge or vape).
If you've set-off any of the protection circuitries in the battery, try putting it back on the charger for a bit to reset.
Call your supplier for additional help/replacement. There is usually somewhat of a warranty for batteries, and most suppliers will sympathize with your plight and send a replacement.

Live near me in Reading, Pa? I'll give you another battery. Live near Whitehall? Ikenvape has a store there, you can contact him.

Two stores around Ephrata, a few near Philly.

Have you tried to pry up the center pin in the Ego?

My Spinner had the red and green light both on at the same time the last time I tried to charge it. I took a paper clip and pried gently up on the center pin, it then charged correctly. When prying on the center, pry gently and work your way around two or three times. It is a known issue that over tightening delivery systems as well as some delivery systems push the pin down, not allowing the pin to make good contact.

On the joyetech, try the 5 click on/off.

If you're using vision clearos, it's likely their center posts not making connections to the batteries. If you're not getting that far - iow, if all are frying from charging then you've got electrical problems or the wrong wall warts.... a multimeter might be a good investment. That will tell you if the batts are truly dead.

that pin is hard to get to, but I'm trying. I did plug it in for an hour jsut to see if maybe the charger was giving me a false negative. Nothing. The battery is near flat- it tries to blink 40 times but is very weak now and dies off at about 8-10 blinks, but the 40 count is definitely solid since it went haywire.

So far, I edged the pin up a hair, but no luck yet. Will keep you posted.

Def. 40. The knockoffs are generally 10 or 15 I think, but the Joytech is definitely 40.

Anyways, I was able to pry the pin up a little, and that worked (I hope). The charger appears to be charging it normally.. Time will tell. The other battery is still dead, I'm prying up the head and cleaning it out, but so far no luck. I think I may just go with the provari or something going forward, but I'm super-relived to have a backup battery again.. nothing worse than having no juice for my juice lol.

I appreciate your offer- I'm over in Pottstown- unfortunately an hour+ away from the ephrata store, and an hour from the one in bridgeport as well. I've driven to the Bridgeport location a couple of times for emergencies (once for that damned battery lol). But, yeah, I make my own juice and tend to order everything online.

i bought my vv spinner from AltSmoke.com - eGo Spinner Variable Voltage Battery
and then went cheap and bought the usb charger from https://www.fasttech.com/products/1270407

Thanks for the info, while on the fasttech site, I started browsing (seemed crazy to place an internet order for just $2 and change lol), their batteries are super cheap, and so far, my cheap batteries have outperformed the name brand.. so I'm open. Problem is they have hundreds of batteries but none say spinner or twist.. a few say EGO-T but don't appear to twist.. am I reading that right?

If you order the VAMO from Fast Tech, check out the battery info page on one of the blogs. I hope searching will bring up the link. I saw it when I was reading another post. I think it was by Thrasher or baditude. Not certain. Apparently there can be some real problems with knock off batteries for these APVs. I am researching in prep for a future purchase. I need to keep track of the links so I can post them. My bad.

The battery information page is here: forum, e-cigarette, ECF Library, rechargeable batteries :)facepalm:). Sorry I couldn't find it earlier. It was not a blog.
