Hi everyone. I have been vaping since November 1, 2012. I just recently graduated from and ego battery to a Smoktech VV Winder. I fell in love with it for the first two weeks. Now it is basically working like my ego would right before it was about to die. Less vapor, very little throat hit, kind of an "airy" vape. I like a solid throat hit and lots of vapor, which is why I upgraded in the first place. I use a vivi nova tank with a 1.8 ohm wick. While lurking on the boards, I see it is recommended that I "dry burn" and clean the clearimizer. I have never done either. Could this be my problem? If so, could you please explain the best way and how often to do both? Also, I have tried cartimizors in the past, and have not had much:glare::glare: luck with them, but are they better for this mod? Please, don't be afraid to talk to me like a child on here, even though I have been vaping for awhile, I am not very "techie" when it comes to these things. Any input/advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Lisa

Not sure which clearo your using, however if it's rebuildable meaning u can unscrew the coil then......

1. Rinse under warm water til almost white again.
2. Soak in Vodka for a few hours.
3. Rinse under warm water again.
4. Let thoroughly dry.
5. Reinstall and Vape on.....

You can also replace coil with a new one while one is drying etc.

I could be the battery but I doubt it. I would change the head on the tank and see. The symptoms you describe can definitely be the atomizer and not the battery. I typically give heads a couple hour soak in vodka after every 4-5mls of vaping. Keeps them pretty fresh and they last must longer. I used to dry burn but I stopped. Replacement heads are only $1. Each one lasts close to a month if you keep it clean. I replace 2 a month on average. Hardly a cash eater in the vaping game. Heck, my juice fail box is equal to 100 heads. lol

You need to either burn the coil or replace the head.

Depending on the juice you are using a coil may last anywhere from a few days to month. my vivi novas last about two weeks before they are gunked up to the point where I replace the heads. When buying new heads try to make sure they are the same brand as the ones you have. The aren't all interchangeable.

Thanks guys. I have been using the same vivi nova for awhile prob about 6 months). Maybe it just needs replaced. When I got home this evening I tried one of my old carts on the battery and it is working much better. My wicks (same as the coil?) usually last about a week, and I changed that as soon as I started having issues. Probably a dumb question, but what is the head on the vivi nova? Is that the part that screws into the battery? Also, I forgot to mention earlier that sometimes when I vape a bunch the tank gets hot. Normal?

Thanks so much for all of your responses! You guys rock!

6 months? You might win an award for that. Vivi's are top coil so the metal part unscrews from the tank near the mouthpiece. Buy a couple 5 packs if you really like the vivi's.

Vision Vivi Nova and Mini Coil Heads

Yes, your coil is frizzle fried. Pop a new coil head in there and the tank is brand spanking new again. Every 3-4 tanks pop the head off and rinse with hot water or vodka (i do both) and put a new one in. Switch back to the cleaned one and keep repeating. As soon as one starts acting up then just toss it.

The tank getting hot just means your having a good vape session. Totally normal.

Okay, I misunderstood, I replace the coil heads about once a week, did not know you could clean them to get more life out of them. A big part of my problem is I don't know what all the parts are called. I always thought the coil heads were the same as the wicks. But I have also never cleaned any part of the tank. Should I be soaking/cleaning the bottom part that screws into the battery too?

So sorry for all the questions.
