At first, I was a little bit frustrated. Ive only been doing this for a solid week so far, but I was able to kick analogs in two days. In the beginning, I didn't know about proper voltages/wattages for the ohm coil I was running, or different liquids needing a settings tweak. One juice was awesome at a setting, while another was cruddy. So, to the net I went. I was fortunate to find this place, and I lurked around for a while before I signed up lol. Now, Ive went from a cheapo mod to an SVD I picked up yesterday, and my Provari will be here tomorrow :). My wife is much happier that I dont stink, Im happier I can breath better (once I finish hacking up all the crud from the past 20 years of killing myself), I can smell things now, I can taste things as well. Every time I googled anything at all about vaping questions, this forum was normally the first to pop up in the search results. Now, Im tinkering, Im learning, and Im honestly loving this!!!! To all of you here, thanks !! I have found an awesome shop here in Katy, and they have a very very broad selection of vaping equipment and juices. Anyone in the Katy area, check out Electronic Cigarettes of Houston, Ive had an awesome experience with them, and will continue to go there :toast:. A solid support group is important for anything, and now, this is gonna be more of a hobby I think hahaha. I dont wanna go back to analogs again...EVER!!!!!!

I totally agree... yesterday morning was day #1 for vaping... I was extremely frustrated and posted almost as much on here. Was awed by the replies that I received from the ECF members, I love how supportive the people seem to be on this forum... it wasn't so much as I was ready to throw in the towel yesterday morning, because I've already made my mind up that this WILL work, come hell or high water we will be quitting analogs. By last night I had finally figured out how to hit our new tritons without choking and gagging and could barely put the darn thing down. I knew it could be done because I see so many people getting so much enjoyment out of it. I only smoked 3 cigarettes yesterday and haven't had a single one after being up for 4 hours today

Congratulations :toast: That's wonderful progress. And way to hang in there and keep figuring it out. It is so worth it. As you can see it quickly becomes very enjoyable and fun.

I tried my first e-cigarette--no way you could have called it a PV (Personal Vaporizer) in April 2009. It was $100 wasted and no amount of fidgeting around with it was going to make it work better. Forums like this one would have helped me try again or pick a different setup than I did but they weren't around back then. I am in awe of the old timers on here that actually managed to make those original e-cigs work and eventually changed them into the products & liquids we have today.

I still can't see myself puffing on or carrying around a flashlight, battery operated boyfriend or walkie talkie (hand grenade--maybe) but with battery technology advancing like it has been, I'm more than thrilled to see what 5 short years have done for this new gizmo and am now happily on board for the ride. The $100 I spent 5 years ago wasn't wasted if it helped get this product to the level it is now and the $250 I've spent in the last 6 months was the best investment I've ever made--including my kids' college education because now I'm going to be around long enough for them to have to put up with my eccentricities for a very long time.

Great stuff! I too am in awe of the old schoolers that were determined to make it work. Things have come so far even in the lil more than a year that I've been vaping. If I hadn't have tried the failures I wouldn't have found the ones that work. Spending a little extra money is infinitely worth it if it means being able to spend more time with loved ones.

Awesome post.

And my rule with vaping is always have a good solid vape to fall back on. Nothing worse than being annoyed/frustrated with whatever build you're working on and having nothing to toot!
Very wise words indeed. I've come across folks who gave up and went back to analogs just because they didn't have another set up or battery and couldn't wait for the one they had to charge. I always try to tell people to have a back up ready. I work at a gas station so I get many opportunities to tell people about the better set ups that are available. This is usually while they are inquiring about the cheapies being sold at my work. Frustrates me to see folks buying Vuse and still giving BT money. I try to encourage folks to search the web do research. Even go to the local B&M.

After reading a thread in the general e- smoking forum I thought that maybe I could give this thread a bump and see what happens. It's been several months since I posted this thread but I know it still holds true. Happy vaping to all the new vapers and new members and all those who have been at it for some time.
I love vaping and I love ECF!:headbang:
