Got my Magma clone in from fasttech today.
Dont have an original to compare to, but it is VERY well made. 510 and top cap threads are flawless and smooth as glass. Machining is top notch and clean all around.
And for those that care (or are angered by such things) even the logos are clean and flawless.
Only thing I can say is not 100 percent perfect would be one of terminal screws is not as smooth as the other but FAR from being problematic.
So I didnt have much time to tinker with her after it was all cleaned up so I just built a simple 28g micro w cotton at about 1.2ohm.
So far, color me impressed. My fav dripper is a little no name 14mm that LOOKS kinda like a smok Squid. The smaller chamber gaves amazing flavor. Well the Magma competes EASILY, with the added benefits of having adjustable airflow, high juice capacity, and the option of running dual coils.
Given that the Magma places its air holes under your coil(s) and has a concave top cap that concentrates vapor into your drip tip (sound familiar Kayfun users?) it is safe to say it is designed with flavor in mind.
Now my set up was far from a fog machine build, nor was it intended to be. I would imagine with some dual coils the Magma could out out some respectable clouds, but given how the airflow works I dont think it would be able to compete with a more traditional dripper with massive airholes.
I suppose if one were so inclined you could modify the stock air channels but it would be a major PITA, and frankly not worth it IMO.
This is one of the few cases where I can honestly say that if no cheap clone or similar device existed I would more than likely pay for an original.
I cant wait to experiment with it more and see what I come with.
