Small chamber is where the kayfun and other similar tank systems get their excellent flavor, I agree. There are rdas out there that have very small chambers that combined with a Reo, negate any advantages of a kayfun style device for convenience and flavor. Again, IMO

Like These?? Again I will say IMO a Well Built Kay-Fun can hold it's own with any thing out there in the taste department!

I can understand the appeal of such a setup, although I have never personally tried a "squonker". ;)

However, the premise of the thread is that the Magma is somehow a replacement or better version of the Kayfun. Which it isn't, no matter how nice of a dripper it may be. A point which I really wouldn't argue with. It's my favorite dripper. Drippers just aren't my favorite.

I found tanks such as the Kayfun/Aqua/Taifun, and now the Expromizer and Lemo, to be a natural progression from drippers. Sure part of it is convenience. Quite honestly, I find dripping a hassle, but the other part was the consistant vape and flavor. The Kayfun is not the end-all for me in terms of flavor from a tank. It just happened to be the subject matter here.

The things that bug me with the magma are: (1) The screw-on top becomes an annoyance after a while. (2) the air control ring easily moves while re-dripping and it becomes a PIA to re-position in non perfect lighting.

The things I like about the magma: Vapor production and flavor, its dimensions and the fact that they can be bought modified to bottom feed.

On a Reo, the things I don't like are no longer a problem and I am left with a great performing atty.

Kayfuns do give great flavor, I used to have 6 of them, have since moved on. The convenience of a reo cannot be overstated IMO.

I only remove the top when I'm changing wicks. Pulling the drip tip gives plenty of room to squirt in some juice.

I removed mine.

If flavor and convenience is a major factor for you, you owe it to yourself to try one. Since I got my first, everything else has been collecting dust.

Yes, on my Magma with a 2x coil build, I removed the AFC, as well. The AFC serves no purpose, other than aesthetics for those whom prefer it wide open.

For those wish to do the same, check to sure that your drip tip will be clear the 2 internal posts.

I tried but I found that the juice gets to the air holes and it leaks.

I removed mine.

Good idea, this ring is useless since I use double coil and max air .

I'm going to disagree. While I think the Magma is a little better in the taste department a Well built Kay-fun is not to far behind in just taste. In no way does it get Blown out of the water in taste quality by any thing I have tried:)

With mid to high PG liquid, I agree. With high VG, I do not agree.

That's fair. People seem to have trouble with wicking for high VG, although I've vaped Boba's (100% VG) out of mine with no trouble.

I tend to vape 50/50 most of the time because the higher PG amount seems to carry the flavor better then higher VG concentrations on the same liquid.

You are missing one of the features of a kayfun that helps concentrate it's flavor, and that is it's chimney section. It is the concentration of the vapor produced that make it's flavor so pronounced. Most drippers lack that feature, and instead produce flavor through the brute force of the amount of vapor produced. Not the same thing in my book.

Have you seen the Venturi? It's an RDA with a chimney.
