So I just bought an Americlone Fuhattan. The one with the Micky Mouse middle finger on the bottom. I'm still fairly new when it comes to vaping but I have done my research. My problem is I can't get my fuhattan to hit like I want. I put a 27 g. 8 wrap coil, 1/8 Dia coil on it. The problem is I'm right around .5 ohms and the Fuhattan just won't hit hard. I'm using the Sony 18650 VTC5 batteries and they are definitely fully charged. Building on a Mutation X clone. And it hits hard on my IPV3 just fine.

Any suggestions? Thanks all!
You have received some really bad advice here. Please don't go below 0.4 ohms on a single battery mechanical power supply.

Don't plan on it. One of the articles I read talked about how dangerous it is to get close .2. I'm going to try and stay, at the very least, above .3. I appreciate the post though! I'm sitting at .45 right meow.

When considering how low you can build you need to give yourself some headroom. I try to never exceed 50% of the CDR (continuous discharge rating) of a fully charged battery (4.2v). So with a 30A battery, that would be 15A. This Ohm's Law Calculator tells me that a .28 ohm build is as low as I would want to use.

The reason that I place a 50% limit is because as a battery ages the mAh of the battery degrades, as the mAh degrades so does the batteries c rating (amp limit). So down the road, a 30A battery may only be a 15A battery."

Perfect for a 30A CDR battery like the Sony VCT4 or LG HB6. Contrary to popular belief the Sony VTC5's are only 20A CDR. @Mooch has bench tested this battery.

Check out some of @Mooch's battery blogs (one of ECF's battery experts).
* No matter what is printed on the battery wrapper: There are no 18650 batteries with a genuine rating over 30A!

If you want a strong vape off a single battery tube mod there are some tricks. The smaller the wire you use the faster it will heat up. A 2.3mm ID contact coil using 28awg with 6:7 wrap to get around 1ohm per coil then go dual to get 0.5ohm will make a lot of vapors... :)

A lot of people think using larger wire is a good idea, they are wasting energy heating up lots of metal. It heats up slowly and cools down slowly. All the energy that is dissipated before and after they take a puff is just wasted. That is why they build so low, to compensate for the thermal mass of the coil itself.

Boden, where were you when I started this? Bahaha.
Lol, I was screwing around building a DIY RDA out of a Kayfun light. Here is a pic of the results using a 1ohm coil at 18W.

Well hell, seems no point in vtc5's over 25r's. I've been lucky i guess vaping at .2ohm's on them for months.

I like the Samsung 25R personally. It's not that dangerous but you are going to wear them out pretty fast. I would have a charger that tells you how many mAh the battery is storing like the Xtar VC4. That is a good indication of how fast a battery is aging

My suggestion would be less wraps, especially for mech mods. Now less wraps means lower resistance. You can compensate with different gauge wire and different diameter bit to achieve your target resistance. I've done large surface area builds with 14 or 20 wraps on 26650 rda's but that was on a series box mod. I would never put that build on a rda that's on a mechanical or parallel box mod. When I'm doing builds for a mechanical mod I generally try to stay with 4 or 5 wraps.
