I have only been at this DIY thing for a week, but I can't seem to get it right. I have tried about 20 different flavors and the only ones I seem to like are the fruit flavors, but even when I add up to 20% flavor, I can barely taste them, I only get a little aftertaste in my mouth after a good puff. I have played around with PG/VG, started out with 80/20 and have gone as far as 50/50, I can't go 100% VG because my nic is in PG. Is this common for fruit flavors? I am using perfume apprentice, and at 10% alot of the other flavors came through great, they just weren't for me. I have tried premixed juices from various vendors, not any fruit flavors, mostly tobacco. I find some of them almost too powerful, like a french vanilla I tried, you can taste it before you even inhale because it is so strong, and you taste it the whole way down, not just the aftertaste. What am I doing wrong that I can't recreate this with fruit? Would Loranns, Flavour art, or capellas be more concentrated? Would 100% VG help? I would really like to stick with the DIY if I can make it work for me.

Using the same brand I've found that letting the juices "age" about a week or more will bring out the flavor on some of those flavorings (Raspberry can be dangerous...LOL). I'm willing to bet some of yours will get pretty potent in about a week or more at that concentration. I mix at different PG/VG levels and the flavors vary slightly...nothing that would be considered drastic changes. Don't get hung up on PG/VG percentage too much at this time.

A good simple easy flavor that is strong and tastes great is Cinnamon Red Hots flavor with a little sweetener in it. I mix 50/50 PG/VG with 10% Cinnamon Red Hots flavoring. I make up 10ml at a time and I use only one drop of sweetener in it. After you make it if you want more sweetness add another drop or two, it's such a small amount of sweetener that it makes practically no difference in the mixture ratios. It's pretty hard to screw up, you don't need to let it steep, tastes wonderful and you can vape it all day with out getting sick of it.

20 batches in 1 week...you're my kinda' people!

How many of these batches were given a hot water bath? Any aging at all? Nah, too little time between mixes.

As mentioned above, let them steep for awhile and see if that helps.

When I am working a new mix I will start low, bathe in hot water, shake again and test. If the flavor is not there I will add more and bathe, shake, test again. Once it comes anywhere close to tasting like I think it should, that bottle is steeped for about a week. Sometimes it makes a huge difference, sometimes it's the same, but I know that if I keep jacking the flavoring up during the first mixing session that I have a better chance of going too far.

Welcome to your new obsession...errrr...hobby!

The day I received my DIY stock package I mixed up everything (it was actually pretty easy to do all 20 at once, just filled up all 20 bottles with 3 mL of my pg/vg and nic with syringe first, then one by one add flavor drops and label :) ) and that was a week ago. I tried most of them the first day and found which was my favorite, tweaked it a little, and mixed up a big batch. I have been vaping that for a week now, the bottle is empty and I am getting sick of it and want something new. So I went back to my other 19 flavors this morning, they have been steeping for a week, and I still find them all very weak. I didn't do a hot water bath or anything, just stored them in a cool dark place. They all started at 10% but I bumped up some of the weaker ones that I liked to 20% this morning and still not to par. I will try that hot water bath, how long do you soak them for? Letting them sit for a week isn't really an option as I don't have anything else to vape, but will try to be more prepared in the future! Thanks for all the tips everyone.

I agree with everything,in my very humble opinion TFA fruit is the best. If you are after strong fruit flavors TFA cantalope,Pineapple and Pina Colada are all quite strong

TFA fruits at 20% work well in a 80/20 mix. And like people said steeping does make a difference.

yeah 20%- I like my flavors strong!

Lelly,

I've gotten 4 fruit flavors from Vapor Renu and FA. Two from Vapor Renu are very strong and excellent flavored- Raspberry and Grape. Their Watermelon though is terribly weak. The FA flavor I got was White Grape and it was insanely strong and very perfumey tasting. They say though that FA is very potent and I have several flavorings coming from them that I got in a co-op. I'm very hopeful about that lot because one is Cookie flavor and all I need is a sweet delicious base to add other things to- like Coconot Cookie and Butterscotch Cookie and Maple Cookie, etc...

If you have any 3 or 5 ml bottles available you could mail me, I'll gladly mail you some of my VR Raspberry and Grape to try. They are delicious.

Purevapes has FA flavorings for $1.50 a sample. That's the cheapest I have found:http://www.purevapes.com/

Don't give up! I keep trying too to make something delicious!

I included a few of those in my order so we will see how it goes, I have high hopes for Pina Colada, just don't think it would be an all day vape, but a nice treat.

Here's what I'm vaping at this moment:

Cinnamon Pear

8% PA Cinnamon
27% PA Pear
15% VG
50% PG

35% total flavor (Pear is not very strong); I can taste this one!

I hear everyone raving about cinamon, but I am definately not a fan, I even can't stand the smell of someone chewing cinamon gum! I may have to give it a shot though, just to see what all of the fuss is about.

Thankyou for the offer, I have some of TPA grape and raspberry on the way so we will see how that goes. Is FA much different that TPA? I tried the cookie flavor from TPA, even tried mixing it with a few different things, but I think that it is not for me, lol. I have made a few batches since I first posted, gave them hot water baths and now I am going to let them sit for a week. Does that help TH or just flavor, cause I sampled a few and I may have to up the nic cause there was no TH, lol
