So, I have no appropriate cartos I can use to make a proper tank mod. But what I have lots of are CE2s, so I thought about a few ways to make them work. I couldn't use the 6ml bottle mod with the CE2s the way they were because the tube is too big to fit through the bottleneck even with the tip sliced off. But was there a way to use the CE2 guts to make a mod?
You betcha there is!
Now, this is just a prototype. I used a disused CE2 that had developed a bit of a leak around the seal at the connector end, so I figured I might as well put it to some use to make a prototype.
And there it is. The ugly-azz G-Tank, CE2 edition prototype.
It turns out that the guts of the Fluxomizer Deluxe fit right through the open mouth of the bottle without the need to slice and dice the tip of the neck off. You need to apply a little force, so what I did was drop the CE2 cup-end first into the bottle, then took the lid from the bottle and torqued it down over the connector to force it into the bottle. What I ended up with was an absolutely perfect fit. The lip of the connector end fits over the ridge at the tip of the bottle where the dripper nozzle normally snaps into, creating a solid seal. No need for any sealant or hot glue, it doesn't leak at all.
The real trick though was the cup end. I needed to be able to seal it the same as it is in its normal tube. Well, what's easier than using the tube it came with? No need to use the whole tube, just cut off about 3/4". Then cut a hole in the bottom of the bottle to put that bit of tube through (I used a Sharpie to ink the end of the tube and press it to the bottom of the bottle, creating an ink template for me to cut around). The bit of tube goes down just to the bottom of the cup and leaves enough up top for a drip tip. (In my prototype I cut it too short, and it's messy as hell because I used a Dremel, which melted the plastic. Doesn't matter, this is a throwaway anyway.) So I cut the hole, shoved the tube down in there, hot glued the tube to the bottle, insert the cup seal, and it was ready to vape! Fill it like a modded CE2, just remove the cup seal and drip or syringe fill. Best of all, you can still put the cap back on to transport.
I'm going to make up a proper one with a new CE2 probably tomorrow and see how it goes. And I won't use black hot glue this time.
I'll probably do a video tutorial on how to make one at some point as well.
